Need some recommendations for software that will help with my grammar.

Get a book instead?

>> No.2602740

You actually went and bought that, when it would've been easier and cheapter to get a DSTT or Acekard?

You mean these things?
Was kind of looking for something more portable.
I have a DS, found a game store near where I live, so I wanted to make use of it. And yes, I am studying in Japan.

I don't want to install things on any of my systems. With my luck they'll brick the second I load a CFW. And for some reason handhelds aren't region locked, so I'm going to use them.

you can only use most ds softs to learn japanese > japanese. if you're at the beginning, books are you're best option

Kanji sono mama as a DS dictionary has a lot of example sentences and some grammatical entries which I find very useful.

^ this.also beats buying a $300+ denshi jisho. only problem is the tedious input.

I find the DS input, at least for the pen is much easier to use than those dinky densi jisho. The battery life isn't quite as long, but with the backlight set to minimum it's pretty good - the screen and touch pad are bigger, in color, and the pad has much better feel/responsiveness than the comparatively priced densi jisho's in my experience. Another big advantage, is (at least on my DS lite) the touchpad doesn't pick up any marks from a normal 2b pencil, so I can use my writing pencil straight on the touchscreen without dropping one tool to pick up another.

Thanks for the recommendations. For grammar is Tadashii Nihongo DS any good?

the purpose of a dictionary is not to learn grammar. I do think it's not a relevant suggestion on what OP requested, but it is useful.
>>2602910
there's Kanken 3 already
