I don't hate Ciel. She's not my favourite character or anything, but I don't hate her.

Because she loves curry, and Hindus smell like ass and make absolutely zero effort to get rid of their accent when in the process of learning and speaking English.

The people who hate ciel are the ones that played her route after everyone elses.

The hate for Ciel is mostly just an unfunny meme. Obviously there are some who really dislike her, but for the most part people seem to be pretty neutral towards her.

I'm one of those who really likes her, though and I think the scene in her route where she follows Shiki through the school and eventually falls in to his arms is one of the most emotional parts of the VN. Oh and she takes it up the butt, that's always a plus.

She gets hated because her route is the one big disappointment in an otherwise superb game. Sure, objectively it's not that bad, but by contrast with the other routes one feels deprived.

But the scene in OP is from Akiha's route... And Ciel is much the same in Hisui and Arc's routes, not to mention her own.

Take this shot from Arc's route. Ciel replies with 'That's an interesting proposition, but unfortunately I'll have to pass.', and then takes Shiki to save Arc.

Because out of all Tsukihime routes, hers has the best development but the worst ending.

Her route is one of the more complete ones, with less pacing problems, plus Roa exposition and a few nice action scenes, plus you get to see a different side of Arc.

The only problem I can think of is sharing the first two-three days wit hArc's route.

Yeah, I noticed that after going through Arcueid's storyline. It's like they decided Ciel should just get Arc2.0, because Arc takes up so fucking much of Ciel's route. I kind of understand, because you kind of need Arc's help to beat Nero, but did they have to blow Ciel's Good End on her?

It's kind of being made up for though, now that I'm seeing how much of a role she has on the Far Side (while Arcueid shows up a grand total of one time for about half a second).

Yeah it seems more complete in terms of other-character development, and it does have some of the best action, and the best True End (though Good was contrived crap, akin to UBW Good End) I've seen so far. But the first four days are pretty much a carbon-copy of Arc's route (up until and slightly past killing Nero).

I played Ciel's route last and I loved it.
in fact I would say its one of the best. even if you don't like Ciel you gotta admit some of the shit that happens in her route is fucking awesome.

Like the Seventh Scripture, right? Oh, and Arc vs Ciel (though it ends in about twenty seconds with the obvious outcome...). And you never really get to see crazy!Arc in the other routes, so that's pretty damn cool.

Really, the only complaint I have with Ciel's route is (aside from the aforementioned Arc2.0) how Shiki beats Arc by killing the 'earth' around where he was. What the fuck? Even for a main character, isn't that a bit much? Why not just have him pull on his Nanaya blood like he usually does, and pull an OHKO? Still pretty epic (though the word has lost meaning), but also a bit annoying for an entire concept to just be pulled out of nowhere for one fight (that Arc is unkillable because she draws from akasha itself, which also has points along with being the way Shiki can see points in the first place).
