yes, definitely. it popped up the fulscreen/windowed mode box in japanese and it looked fine but then it crashed after that before loading the main menu. when i'm not using applocale, everything is in gibberish but it works

I suggest you re-download your game first...

OK do this... Insert your Windows XP CD then go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options.

From there, click the language tab on the top and put check on those two boxes below. Then, click the advance tab on the top and change language to Japanese put checks in all of the boxes below. Press apply then OK... this might take quite a while then the machine will reboot and presto... enjoy your game...

I thought the point of Applocale was that you didn't have to switch Windows' default language to Japanese? I've done this before when using picture to AA art programs and it's a pain in the ass that messes other things up. If anybody has any advice about getting Applocale to work right that would be awesome, though I guess I might have to end up switching the language in the end.

Unfortunatelly, applocale is not an all in one magic pill that can cure all ailments... I mean, yeah thats how it's supposed to be but given the myriad amount of possibilities. Applocale may not work on some set-ups...
