I don't usually come here, but the KS demo's got me aching for a good dating sim and I figured here would be a good place to ask.

So, yeah. What are some good dating sims?

Dating simulations are a specific type of galge which Katawa Shoujo is not. Dating simulations are like Tokimeki Memorial and Sentimental Graffiti.

If you're asking for visual novels or general galge I would suggest starting with One: To the Radiant Season which you can find on /rs/

I see, thanks.

for visual novels of the romance genre, there are surprisingly few that /jp/ likes (/jp/ likes hardrore type-moon/nitro+/key stuff that really isn't like KS at all). However, you should check out

Wind: a breath of heart
Crescendo -Eien Dato Omotte Ita Ano Koro-
Da Capo
One
if you want generic slice of life romance, those are kinda it, however, if you want a good STORY, then that's different. Visual novels that are good to start out with are True Remembrance, Planetarian, and Tsukihime.

Then, once you have multiple Visual Novels under your belt, there are a few that I consider to be the genre's most accomplished works, that are must sees for any fan:
Ever17
Clannad
Fate/Stay Night

however, these should NOT be played by a newbie, partly for length, partly for other reasons.

Recommend me some stuff like True Love.

What?

And personally I thought Wind was terrible and would not recommend it to anyone.

ONE (which was made by the Key bros) and Crescendo are good though.

Well OP if you want romantic VNs in English look for games by Peach Princess/G-collections. Specifically:

Tokimeki Check In
Come See Me Tonight 1
Come See Me Tonight 2
Figures of Happiness
Snow Sakura
Heart de Roommate
Snow Drop

No shit, /a/sshole. If you enjoyed that tripe, then you can just pick anything at random and enjoy it.

Didn't /a/ SPLIT because of touhous and DATING SIMS?

I started years ago with Kana Little Sister, and Heart De Roommate. Kana is gutwrenching and I found the characters in Heart De Roomate to be lovable.

Although not quite a dating sim, Planetarian is a must read.

WIND would be better if it didn't change genres midgame. Should have stayed as a slice of life romantic VN.
