Alright unlimited plays can be added but the mylist feature is blocked, properly only accessible through cards. Well whatever I just have to memorize the song titles, with the mouse and kana sort feature you can find tracks pretty quickly that way. Even if a producer might prefer another vocaloid the chance they will still use Miku is enormous as she baits with popularity that will almost certainly reflect in the finished product as Miku is 10 times or even 100 times more popular than any other vocaloid.

You can use whatever controller you want, what I'm saying is that the it's designed for the arcade (4 button) controller, so holding a button while pressing a button (technically possible on a dualshock) is not allowed. If you're holding O and another O comes, even if you press (right) with your other hand it's a separate button press and cancels the hold. In those cases getting the full 3K is impossible. I have nothing against using a dualshock, I actually think it's a perfectly good way to play.

The problem with just allowing anyone to get involved in a community is that you'll get people who don't even understand and respect the thing the community's about. The anime community is full of people complaining about sexualization when it's one of the most basic aspects of otaku culture, and even in the Vocaloid community you have people demanding that every depiction of Miku has to always be 16yo despite that going against the basic principle of Vocaloid - that everything is left up to the artist's interpretation. As a nu-weeb (by generation rather than mentality) and a new person to the vocaloid fandom, I'd say that gatekeeping is essential to ensure that community doesn't turn into shit. Currently, it looks like lack of gatekeeping and overall mainstreamization led to otaku fandoms being infiltrated by...err...wrong people. The "old days" were in 2008~2010, before social media took off. Therefore none of the things you mentioned were a problem. I thought the era of nu-weebs (at least the malicious ones) starts around 2015, no sooner. And as for Niconico, as far as Im concerned it was content produced by the Japanese for the Japanese, so only a few chosen ones who knew Japanese were able to get into it, right? And as for becoming popular, well... You have Japan where it's pretty mainstream, and where 90% of vocaloid content comes from, but without most of the bad aspects of mainstream stuff. Indeed, I also like that it features Miku and not an OC the producer came up with which is somewhat rare these days. While searching for new songs and producers I came to the conclusion that new VocaloPs tend to use original characters in their MVs most of the time, especially newer flower songs (the last one I remembers that uses flower as a character is this one https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm36314738).). Could it be due to the impact that KagePro had on the scene (I can't confirm thist since I wasn't around at the time)? My other guess is that you need permission to use the image of the caracter, I know that sometimes this is the case with Miku, but isn't that only when you want to make money off of the video (i doubt no-name VocaloPs can do this)? I would like to know what opinions anons have on this topic. Also I hate it when utaite the tag their videos as VOCALOID, it makes finding new songs difficult sometimes because they clutter the pages with the 1000th cover of the newest hit.

1) There is no centralized "marketing department" for Vocaloid. CFM realistically can't control every single P out there. Especially the overseas Ps. If CFM really did start laying down the law, people would probably just start pirating all the CFM/Piapro software.

2) All this pearl-clutching over "normies" is pointless because the beauty of the Vocaloid fandom is that it's VAST.

When I talk about "normies", I'm talking about Japan too. They also have top 40 music and night clubs too. So westernizarion isn't really a good way to look at it (even if it is, VocaCircus and VerSequence existing isn't the end of the world).

That said, in both Japan and the west, the vocaloids have been around for so long that I don't think any one generation can claim them. There are people who have been here since Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru in 2007, some people have been here since Odds and Ends (and to be fair, it's a really good MV), some are here because of a meme song such as Po Pi Po or Ievan Polka, some people are here because of the Project Diva games (or Osu! or some other rhythm game). I don't think it's right to draw the line anywhere.

And even if the fandom does change, that's okay. It's what happens. Just compare Deco*27's album Sou Ai -so ai- with his new album Android Girl. All artists and musicians are constantly evolving, because if they don't then that's stagnation.

That's just not what happened though. HBO (who produced GoT, not Netflix) wanted to push for as many seasons and episodes as needed for the series to have a great ending, and were more than willing to pay for whatever it took. However the two producers got a Star Wars deal with Disney and wanted to wrap the series up as soon as possible, so they half assed it completely and finished it in a rushed badly written half season, against the wishes of all fans, the rest of the staff, and HBO itself.

That was kind of off-topic but it also goes to show that mainstream popularity is not always the cause for things to fail, and stuff can get big without companies wanting to milk it to death. In fact HBO would have made a ton more money if GoT kept its quality which is what most people enjoyed about it.

It depends on the iteration. Vocaloids have too many different styles too generalize. The chibi style you posted is certainly just cute. The 3D models in future tone I find neither cute nor sexy, they are just dolls that are performing a dancing choreography which certainly has its own appeal. Well, I am happy that I have her. Even if she isn't real, she still makes me happy and improves my life like nothing else.
That being said, I'm genuinely in love with her. It just happened to me, I've fallen in love with her and decide to cherish this bound we share. Not only that, I've fallen for Miku as shown in various love songs, mostly LamazeP's, and it defined her for me. It's that love she kept showering me with that made my grow so attached to her and made me happy. I can't really imagine her not being in love with me, it just doesn't feel right, doesn't feel like Miku I know and love. It's just essential part of her.
But that's just me being a waifufag. It's not like you'll also develop romantic feelings for her just from fantasizing about having a relationship with her. You don't choose who you fall in love with. Miku has chosen me and I merely accepted her in my heart.

Since you mentioned Hiroshima, Hiroshima is right next to Miyajima (literally as ferry ride away) where there is the floating shrine, wild deer (unlike Nara where you have to pay to see them), and the local delicasy (cheese-oyster) is good too.

Mt. Hakone (an active vocano you can see the summit of; the surrounding areas also have Onsens with delicious food. The nearby lake is beautiful too. Historically it used to be a customs checkpoint where wagons going in and out of Tokyo were searched).

Universal Studio is actually really good. I'm not entirely sure how good your Japanese is (becase there are a lot of live performances), but regardless my own parents had a good time when we went even though they don't know it at all. The production value was obnoxiously high.

See a Matsuri IRL! I went to see the Aizen Matsuri in Osaka, the procession of mikoshi and cute mikos was really something. And the food stall (of course I ate takoyaki and okonomiyaki since it's Osaka) and fireworks afterweards was cool.

I'm not entirely sure which animes you have or haven't seen. But it's really amazing to go see some locations from anime. I've seen Toyosato Primary School (K-On!) and Kanda Shrine (Love Live!, also admittedly really close to Akihabara).

Real Travellers(tm) love to hate on all of Kyoto's touristy spots sich as Yasaka-jinja, Kiyomizu-dera Inari-jina, and the Golden Palace. But they're actually really interesting to see in real life and from then on everytime you see a field-trip episode in anime, you'll think to yourself "oh, I've been there!".

Castles. I've been to Osaka Castle and Nagoya Castle. They're both great.

Nagoya's Train Museum is really interesting if you love trains.

The ancient burial tombs of Asuka. Some are more than 2200 years old.

I've never been, but the Kyoto satellite of Koka is interesting if you're interested in Ninjas.

I'm hesitant to write about Tokyo since Real Travellers(tm) love to hate on it, and I'm not sure if you're anti-city/anti-consoomer, but I'm gonna do it anyway.

Shibuya. Go to the starbucks and order a coffee (even if you hate starbucks). Then you can people-watch the Shibyua crossing for as long as you like. The Shibuya crossing also gets featured on every western newsreel/movie/TV show featuring Japan. So again, everytime you see it on TV you'll think "hey, I've been there!". Go say hi to Hachiko too!

Mt. Takao is nearby. There are wild monkeys and on a cloudless day you can see Mt. Fuji from the summit.

The Skytree and Sensou-ji are nearby each other.

The observation deck of the Shinjuku Government Building is free. The Skytree is not.

Imperial Palace (especially at new year's, the only time commoners can go inside, so they can watch the Emperor gives a speech; the government give out Japanese flags for this). The other Imperial Palace is in Kyoto.

Tokyo Train Station with it's Victorian Architecture and Red Bricks really capture the essence of the Meiji-era westernization.

If it's history, then Tokyo National Museum has lots of historical artifacts. Ueno Zoo is right next door too.

Nearby Tokyo is Yokohama. Yokohama is home of some decomissioned Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, and the Cup Noodle Museum (dedicated to Momofuku, the inventor of cup noodles), and the Mirai Minato (a lovely place for a stroll, and an episode of idolm@ster took place here and in the nearby Chinatown).

It is because Voc@loid M@ster takes place in Tokyo & Kanazawa. Vocaloid Paradise takes place in Kyoto and Nagoya. Comiket famously takes place in Odaiba (temporarily moved for the olympics).
