I don't recall being let down so much by an episode 2 as this one has done. All the good things about episode 1 and the possibilities for episode 2 are ground back into the exact same formula as the first episode. I was seriously laughing during the first 20 minutes at how much a copy and paste this second episode's set up was.
That being said, it looks like the entire show will only be filmed in the one setting bar a few montage and background scenes. Now for episode 2 lets just assume that the same thing in the production room will happen again except it will be Mika's manager that will get angry.
It also looks like I was dead wrong about the guest character backgrounds as Mika's was the worst yet, shallow, redundant, another over confident hack waiting to be chopped down.
The positives....This is real tough, seeing how Maya's role has been reduced to redundant mothering, guess what it is...Honma, the only interesting character who clearly holds all the strings and controls any sort of plot progression in this show.
The other interesting part, memory hacking, although now it is used as the writers fallback to basically to make the same show over and over.

Every episode is probably going to have a similar format because that's just the way the show is, but I hope they change some minor things like Kamiyama doesn't have to have a freak out in the middle of every episode, every contestant doesn't HAVE to have a manager who gets pissed and they don't have to run off every time. I watched the pre-show special and they kept saying that Aya's character holds a very important key to Honma and Kamiyama's past. So she's important? Wow, I can smell the butthurt coming off of you. The only credit I give to Ai is being able to actually attempt portray an actual emotion properly. Besides I only watched Q.E.D. for one episode for one episode because of its terrible writing. While Quiz Show comes on with strong ratings with a show that is just a remake. This is only because of the big names attached to the show and not because of its quality, it needs to be taken down a peg and I think the Japanese audience is already realizing this.

I don't recall ever saying I was a long term Ayaya fan, and the argument I was making was using American actors and standards of movies as a reference, thus the Nickolodean line. The point is these type of movies aren't taken seriously, hence Rika being casted as the villain.

The point is I can watch a performance and tell my opinion about an actor's/actress's ability without wining about troll points. Although I'd be angry too if I saw the way Ayaya's role is progressing on The Quiz Show, it feels like she agreed to take the role just to play the groveling, insignificant helper role that is actually so much the norm for actresses getting a start in J-Drama.
