Is there a Touhou faq for absolute novices somewhere on the Internet?
Google has failed me but I'm hoping some kind Anon has found one once upon a time.

(If you are curious, my question is this: What exactly is the point of the games? Who is trying to conquer what and why?)

Don't focus on your hitbox too often, make sure to be looking for a path AROUND your touhou (in all directions)
Never play on Easy mode your first time.

It's a combination. Half of the game is memorizing patterns and safe spots and how to beat certain cards/stages.

The other half is the blessing of the random number gods, where you may get anally raped by physically impossible walls of bullets some times and wide open easy paths the next on the same thing.
