I did this about a year ago to an old high school crush, I managed to maintain a decent nostalgic conversation with her and she asked me for my msn before we said goodbye.

I was expecting her to not even bother adding me, but she did about 20 minutes after the conversation. Do you know what happened, /jp/?

She said 'hi' and went straight offline. I thought nothing of it, and waited for her to sign in the next day. She came straight online, then went straight off. This went on for 3-4 days. I just wanted to say hi back, goddamn.

So, I decided to block her. Do you know what happened when she signed in? She stayed online for a good 3-4 hours or so. I unblocked her, and bam, straight offline. I tried this again the following day and the day after that, same shit.

Most girls have no internet conversational skills. I have talked to several women/girls over IM and they almost always answer with "yes/no" or short answers that do not further the conversation at all. I can understand that maybe they didn't want to talk to me, but even when we were having actually having conversations, it was like pulling teeth constantly.

Girls who play MMOs are generally better, but they are usually attention whores who talk to 1000 people/day. inb4 "Those aren't girls, brah"

My general rule is that I will send the first message, but if I don't get a reply, I won't send another. A couple months after I graduated, I contacted a friend on facebook, we exchanged about 10-15 messages, then she stopped replying. So, fuck her, I will never send another message.
