That's what I've been doing and it's still the hardest mobage I've tried. Can anyone help me? I can't progress in story, I can't progress in spiral corridor, I can't progress in the event, or the exp/gold dungeons, or the jungle or the battle coliseum or anything. Here's my current roster, have I fucked up my account? Is there a team that I can just focus on that'll clear everything? What gear and formation should it use? My numbers are going up every day but it never seems to translate into results. I try to debuff the enemy strength and their physical attacks deal 3 less points of damage, it's pointless.
I finally got a second S greatsword and it has no attribute, so I'm guessing those are super rare so I should just stick with the suboptimal one I got yesterday. Today I'm going to try and get an S sword for Gerard.

I can't believe it, I finally did it! After a week, I was able to finally beat these dang things. And I got a +str Ecksachs or however you spell it for Gerard. Unfortunately it costs more than my daily gold dungeons runs just to evolve it the second time; who knows who expensive the 3rd evolution is. So having a squad with maxed out S weapons is out of reach for now. But at least I'm just 2 stages away from that final expedition. Here's hoping lizards aren't as bad as mushrooms. Any advice would still be appreciated though, feels like I'm moving at a snail's pace compared you guys and there's still a lot of stuff that feels overwhelmingly hard.

To find out which styles have a better chance of raising stats, go to their info screen and tap on "CP". Look at their stats and the ones that have a blue upwards pointing arrow next to them have a higher chance to increase with that style (sometimes there are double arrows for an even higher increase).
Here's an example. I use Monika as my tank for a lot of stages. Her SS style can easily raise its endurance, but her S style gets a bonus to raising endurance AND dexterity. So when I'm trying to clear a difficult stage I bring SS Monika because she's stronger, but I stick S Monika in the expeditions so she'll get more dex bonuses from them.

Unrelated note but today the floodgates have opened to me. Now that I've gotten over that final expedition hurdle, I've gone straight from floor 22 to 26 in the spiral corridor. I think I can actually clear the whole thing before reset 3 weeks from now. And now I understand what people were talking about when they said floor 25 was bullshit. Had to retry a few times to get favorable RNG where the goblins only used confusion once and only on a weak mage while I managed to spread paralysis with 3 different paralyze users on my team. Shit's crazy, and if you don't kill/para the frog wizards first you're doomed.

Elderark has a multi you can do at the start as many times as you want. I don't think it's possible to get more than one SSR out of it, but you can reroll that until you get an SSR that's good or makes you hard/wet/both. Then you get 3 multis when you start playing. It doesn't take that long.

It has some weird problems with certain connection types but if you use a VPN, not even one that's for Japan, it should work.

Was enjoying the game for the last two days. Hadn't lost much or seen any bullshit. Lost a 4-2-2 Hard by one hit after Sophia dies to a single slime hit turn two. So I switch to the tower. Got to 25 without losing but got close a few times. Floor 25 was a Rana Mage and some balloon goblin. Turn two my party gets fully slept for a few turns then supersonic and they start murdering each other. Tried the stage a few times knowing I couldn't succeed against such a huge jump in "difficulty". Decided to uninstall, was fun while it lasted.

Why does anyone play mobages anyways? Why are they all designed exactly the same with different coats of paint. Why is wasting the players time with tedium a design feature. I thought debuffs in Romasaga sucked because I wasn't noticing a difference. Turns out they stack both with applications of other debuffing skills and with themselves. It doesn't really offer anything special aside a guild chat and being able to invite people from your guild to quests, that's pretty basic.

As for the guild content, 50% is people solo grinding so you all get rewards together and 50% is colosseum PvP where using guild chat is too slow to coordinate because you need to be button mashing so most people rely on external programs like discord, colosseum is legitimately a slog to plax even if you're into whaling and strategies. So I'd say it's on the same level as grindblue, pretty simplistic.

On a semi-related note, anyone have any party advice for taking down Subier past stage 10 when he transforms? I'm thinking my best team for that fight out of the ones I have here would be:

My main concern is he tends to spam his single target paralysis move and it almost always (feels like 9/10) sticks to my guys. The new Santa Flurry has a passive that can randomly cleanse status every turn but it seems to be very unreliable as it doesn't always go off and can target characters that aren't even afflicted by anything!

Nope, the things pictured in your image don't carry over to other styles for that character. The only things that stick with the character themselves and not specific styles are the stat increases that get an the end of battles/expeditions (plus they can inherit unlocked skills from any of their styles and weapon mastery levels apply to all characters who use those weapon types).

You're welcome! To verify that, tap on "CP" then deselect the "Character" button so that only "Style" has a blue dot next to it. This should show you a bunch of probably blue percentages, which show exactly how that specific style modifies the character's based stats when used. To the right of the percentages, you'll see the flat stat bonuses you unlocked while leveling the style; because these only appear in the Style window and not the Character window, they're sadly specific to that style only.

The key is to watch for the glow/sparkles around your party members in the stage select screen at the top. The faster the glow and more golden the sparkles, the better chances you have of getting stats there (slow green sparkles means there's not much to be gained there). The rule of thumb is the higher the difficulty, the better.
For now I have a party of Julian, Monika, Azami, Flurry and Windie because for the next 12 days whenever they gain a stat point, they gain 2 instead (only in story stages and the Christmas event though). As for where I grind, I'm grinding the boss stage of the Christmas event until I get enough presents to clean out the shop entirely, then I will be grinding for S grade weapons in the early Very Hard story stages (I've only done the first 2 episodes on VH).
Oh, if you're stat grinding, make sure the style you're using has the best growth bonuses for that character. The rule of thumb is that lower rarity styles are typically better for stat grinding, while the SS styles have the best stats/skills/passives for taking on difficult content. To tell which stats your styles have growth bonuses to, hit the letters CP on their status screen and note the blue arrows next to their stats.

Books only come from events and the normal weekly missions so as far as I can tell, they're the only truly limited upgrade mat for now. As for which skills to awaken, I've heard that everything eventually revolves around optimizing characters for use in Full Power Auto mode. I'm prioritizing the ones I use the most first.

If they ever bring in anything from FFL it's going to be based off the DS remakes of 2 and 3 (which were translated). The old games are easy to emulate, Romancing Saga 2 and 3 aren't particularly-expensive and are multiplatform (Switch/PS4/PC/Phone), Scarlet Grace is half the price of a console game and is on the same platforms as RS2 and 3, you can easily emulate the PS1 and 2 SaGa games, and overall SaGa as a series is great and I wish more people would play it.

Like having the reroll for any sort of tutorial is something I would 99% of time get behind but in this particular situation where the game systems arent the typical roll for SSR character a normalfag is going to be incredibly confused.

But even after that they force you to play a clicking purification thing for "gameplay" which I honestly thought was going to be the main gameplay system of the game and almost dropped it on the spot. Why the hell would you have players do that before the actual gameplay? I can only imagine a non zero amount of people dropping it instantly there.

Then the actual game finally starts and while the weapons are skills system is neat again the presentation for it is bizarre until you figure out how exactly it works. But then the biggest issue that since its a coop game the gameplay feels super janky and jarring and with 4 other NPCs/players I feel like Im not really doing anything and am just along for the ride.Also animations feel like something out of a game from 10 years ago.
