It was a pain for me too. You might need to change your system's region for the installation to go through. Before that, mount the ISO so it acts like a CD (like the other anon was saying, look up how to do that) and pull out everything. After you've changed regions, run the installer and then drag the cracked exe and patches to where they need to be (there's a readme that tells you exactly what to do).

Mahoyo is such a jaw dropping step up in production value that it's completely worth it.

So, I would like to make a question to /tmg/.
But, first, a context. The glorified animation of Mahoyo uses a technique very similar to what some call "Live2D".
Here there is an example of how it is made
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofFsAlJcRcM
Although we can't really determine if the technique used in Mahoyo is in fact Live2D nor if it used similar software, we can deduce that the logic is kinda similar: take 2D static CGs, reduce it to pieces and make use of some image computing, which involves resizing, spinning and so on. Some of these technique are just whatever was done at early 2D, but some use 3D calculations for better quality movements and in some cases it will use 3D render litterally (although I can't remember now if Mahoyo used it).
My point is, there is a clear intention of updating and innovating in most artistical initiatives, and Type Moon was and is not an exception and we can consider that 2013 was when Type Moon started being more "progressive" and stopped being conservative (although FSN uses a new technology, its use was still conservative).
We already have general opinions from /tmg/ regarding most things that were progressive: Ex-games, FGO (as a gacha), non-Nasu written stories (novels, gacha stories), new character designs and styles, etc.
However, what is the opinion of /tmg/ regarding this Live2D trend? Do you want it to continue? Or maybe going back to the roots would be more important (static scenes)? Would you want Tsukihime Remake or whatever new VN they do always made with Live2D techniques? Would you like a remake of FSN where Sakura tits bounce?
Addendum: the logic used in the sprite making of FGO also is based on live2D.

The extra bit of animation looked pretty good in Mahoyo up to the point I read so I wouldn't mind seeing it in the future IF the Tsukihime remake ever actually did some out or if they wanted to add it to something like FGO 1/2 at some point. It's not like FSN/HA wasn't also playing around with animating the sprites for dramatic affect either.

Mahoyo's animations are just a fuckton of pre-made sprites moving around, not a static CG being morphed.

>> No.24240751

>>24240486
The fact that it is not rendering at real time doesn't change the render that your image is making evident. That is, such animation is caused by pre-rendered pieces of static 2D image, which you call sprite.
Therefore, it being pre or post rendered doesn't change that it is a new technique or a non-classical animation technique (which should be obvious).
I'll give you an example, if you watch the Laser Beam against Flat Snark, there's a part where Aoko's hand spins using a very adobe-flash-like motion, as it makes it look like it is basing its movement on a perfect circle, which seems totally unnatural. Such effect is what happens usually when using modern drawing technology that computes a spin, which is by no means the classical technique of animation (that is, not 100% hand drawn).

This isn't true. Check the scene yourself, you can just base these claims off of your own basic knowledge and then speculate it was done by Live2D or similar software. If you're good at this stuff then you'll be able to check it yourself. The most I can do is look at the assets.

If you're hoping for more info on how Shiki's eyes and the mage's crafts specifically work, there isn't much that wasn't mentioned in the movies -- the sixth story being a huge exception. The stuff about Azaka's gloves and Godword is fairly interesting.

>Just saw that Mahoyo has no voice acting?
Yeah it didn't have voice-acting. This might make you feel a bit "empty" while playing it but could also make a fresh, new experience when it comes to playing VN. Mahoyo OST is really really good that it might fill the lack of voice acting too.
>Nasu: Sound is a very strong tool. The existence of voices can greatly affect a work's charm. However, each player has his or her own ideal voice for the characters that only exists in his or her own heard. I think this is one of the reasons characters from Tsukihime and Fate were so popular among gamers, because gamers can simply overlay their ideal voice over the characters. If the creators want a character to be loved by the players, they don't necessarily need to add in voices, forcefully impose their own vision onto the characters. In today's world, we feel very uncertain by not adding voices for characters, but still, we don't want to impose any specific impressions on the gamers, because human imagination is unmatched.
>Takeuchi: Adding voice over for characters will have a huge impact, but will also limit the player's reading speed, and is not really related to novel-style games. The current plan is to create a voiceless game, maybe some will feel something basic is missing, but I don't want to be limited by it, and will decide what to add and what not to add based on if a feature will add a point or deduct a point from the game.
That said, Aoko and Alice do have voice acting due to the collab with Lord of Vermilion >>/jp/thread/S23365099#p23371676

both of those properties retained (or even gained) popularity after adding voices, while Mahoyo is still largely unknown. so I'm not so sure about that, Nasu.

Interesting, but if they really think this way why did they add voices to FSN Realta Nua? I understand the argument, but I'm quite sure I personally would've enjoyed Fate not as much if there were no voice acting. I simply lack the ability to imagine all the shades and nuances I find in the voices of Rin or Archer. And if one follows that logic, why even impose visuals if the players could overlay their imagined ideal over the text, since "human imagination is unmatched"? That reasoning leads back to the classical novel. Technically, if voice acting is included they could simply let the player decide whether to play with or without voices.

The number of famous VN's without voice acting seems to not matter to some people.
It is a double standard to say it should have voice acting because of when it was made.
For Mahoyo to have voice acting, it would need a large rework, even the very perspective of most of the game would need to be altered.
It is written as a traditional novel with music and visuals on the top, as basic as a KN/VN gets.
And personally, I wouldn't change a thing.

Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case considering they spent most of the resources/budget on the visual aspect already, hence why Mahoyo is expensive eventhough it's short and doesn't have voice acting. Though my guess that is 50/50 lack of resources and Nasu & Takeuchi's opinion on voice acting. For all we know, Nasu has a big autism on voice acting too, he handpicks the main cast and tends to go to the recording.

>Nasu: I can't talk about the castings. Actually I attended the recording sessions, it was so hard XD

>Takeuchi: That's no scenario, that's a telephone book. XD
>Nasu: I asked, "Is this the scenario?" and I was told it's only a quarter of it. After we worked for four hours, there was no progress in finishing that quarter XD
>Takeuchi: I should explain it in centimeters: "We finished 2 centimeters in 4 hours that day."

- Will the addition of voices change the impression of game?
>Nasu: This game is already very long, we're afraid it will slow down the tempo. I hope game won't take over 100 hours to complete.

- Really, it needs over 100 hours to complete?
>Takeuchi: Sure, It could be. XD But it must be enjoyable.
>Nasu: Sub-characters have voices also. I hope fans will enjoy it.

- Did the voice actors/actresses say anything about the amount of work?
>Nasu: "I didn't expect it" XD I correct the phrases that were hard to act on the spot.

- How long will it to finish the recordings?
>Nasu: We intend to finish it in 2 and a half months.

Oh i remember that old interview. It also mentioned some behind-the-scene stuff from the casting like how and why the VAs were chosen
>- Did you participate in the casting of voice actors and actresses?
>Nasu: I participated in the casting meetings and acted selfish. XD Takeuchi had wanted to apply Kawasumi-san as Saber, and I agreed with him.

>- Why did you choose Ayako Kawasumi?
>Nasu: She has a beautiful, elegant, yet girly voice.
>Takeuchi: I had her voice in mind from the beginning, because I needed the dignity in Saber's voice. I heard her voice in another anime and back then I thought, "Her voice is cool, pretty with dignity." Also the sound director had suggested her, I knew he had the same images of her as I.
>Nasu: The reason Takeuchi picked Junichi Suwabe as Archer was terrific, he got the idea from "The Prince of Tennis." He was the candidate for another character, but the test result was so great, we decided to change immediately.

>- Why did Takeuchi-san needed Suwabe-san as Archer?
>Takeuchi: His voice is pretty awesome, we had some options but we had planned to have a young actor for Archer, and all we needed after that was joining Jouji Nakata. :D

>- Why did you want Nakata-san so eagerly?
>Takeuchi: We love him XD
>Nasu: He has participated in all our works from when we were just a doujin group. We met him when we were creating "Kara no Kyokai," he has a nice voice and he is a very nice guy, we fell in love from the time we first met. (laugh)
>Takeuchi: He read all 2 bulky volumes of "Kara no Kyokai" just for his three lines of dialogs.
>Nasu: It was when we were just a doujin group, we were impressed with his attitude.

>- Why did you pick Kana Ueda-san as Rin?
>Takeuchi: Her voice is too cute, but we dared to make Rin's voice cute.
>Nasu: We thought, "Should we look for another possibility for Rin's voice? How about making Rin act overly proud with a cute voice? However it could be risky."

>- What do you think about Noriko Shitaya as Sakura?
>Nasu: She has a pretty sweet voice like honey. I can't blame her even if she do anything bad with that voice XD

>- In the anime, Fuji-nee (sis Fuji) was also very impressive.
>Nasu: She is very powerful, she has many fans among staffs and voice actresses. Miki Itou-san is naturally like her...oh,sorry XD

I don't get why people think that the Rose Prophetess is Altrouge. I don't remember anything that even implied that.

I'm a bit confused by Van-Fem's age. He's said to be one of the longest-serving DAAs (according to the Act Cadenza manual, at any rate), but in Prelude, Merem describes him as "fresh" and "new," his general approach to things seems to be quite modern, and he's apparently a notable public figure in the business world.

I wonder what Rozay-en's hobby is. I assume it has something to do with her being a self-proclaimed artist, and maybe also her friendship with Sumire, but I can't imagine what it could be when the only thing we know about it is that it's distinct even among the DAAs. That's just too vague.

How do you think Altrouge's half-DA half-TA thing works? Was she, like, a science experiment? The offspring of a TA and a human, who then got turned by a DA?
And how does the whole "DAs have to drink blood to survive" thing interact with the "TA's go mad if they drink blood" thing? Is Alt exempt from one or the other? Does her life consist of a perpetual seesaw between starving herself to stay sane and going stark raving mad when she finally has to feed? Since the reason DAs need to drink human blood is because they need the genetic information of their own species to maintain their decaying bodies, maybe Altrouge needs to feed on both humans and TAs (or at least humans and Elementals/fairies). That could be why she's said to be unstable, because her body needs blood that can't be reliably obtained.

Sumire seems really cool, She stands out so much from the others in terms of being basically entirely unlike a traditional vampire while still retaining all the important parts, and all of those divergences are really fun character concepts. I love the idea of a lesbian vampire who lives at the bottom of the ocean and would be nearly all-powerful if she weren't also permanently drunk. I hope she gets to have a notable role in something good someday. I wonder what's up with her having Marble Phantasm. It probably means she has to be some kind of Elemental, right? I don't know what FGO did to deity-related lore, but last I knew, gods were basically very big Elementals, so I tend to imagine Sumire as having been some kind of ocean goddess before getting turned.
Merem, Alt, Blackmore, and Van-Fem should also get thrown a bone eventually, too.

the Rose Prophetess is likely Rita Rozay-en given by CF Rail Zeppelin case
>Standing within the fog was the figure of a woman clad in white, someone I hadn't seen at all on the train earlier. Around her was a cloud of vibrant flower petals, as if she was being decorated in another world.
>Rose petals.
>Around where the woman stood, dozens of bright red roses bloomed proudly. Not just around her, but the brilliantly coloured flowers also wove through her hair like a crown, making her look like a personification of the flowers themselves.
>The woman raised her face.
>Her sharp, scarlet eyes met mine...
>(...huh?)
>And in the next moment, she was gone.

>Another person was now standing in our room.
>"Gray?" It seemed Caules couldn't see her.
>But I could definitely see - a pale woman, wrapped in crimson roses. Rather than having just appeared, she stood as if she had been there the entire time, and I had only just noticed her.
>I was vaguely aware that the wind coming from the gap in the window was causing her rose-clad hair to sway.
The anime skipped these scenes sadly

>> No.24358462

>>24358367
I honestly have no idea what the fuck "CF Rail Zeppelin" means, and if it's a Fate thing I honestly probably couldn't really care less, either, but I had actually already considered the idea that Rozay-en might be the Rose Prophetess just based on the possible shared etymology; "Rozay-en" maybe being derived from "rosen," meaning 'made of or coloured like roses.' Or, you know, just directly from "rose."

That said, I don't see how the passage you've quoted has anything to do with Rita? There's nothing there that actually connects to her in any way; none of her established character traits or anything specific to her like that. There's just... roses, which is sort of an expected facet of the Rose Prophetess whether or not she's also Rozay-en, whose association with roses thus far is literally in name only. The Rose Prophetess in that scene could as easily be Blackmore in drag, because all of her identifying features in it are part of the persona of the Rose Prophetess rather than anything in any way specific to any known DAA.

It's Rail Zeppelin arc in Case Files, the arc that got animated last year. Rail Zeppelin is the "Mystic Eyes Collection Train" and they held a Mystic Eyes auction there.
>Originally, this auction was just an excuse for the previous Manager to show off their collection of Mystic Eyes. The real, heh, 'Eye Catchers' will be shown tomorrow."
>"They held an auction just to show off?" I echoed.
>"Yep. It was all just a pastime for some Dead Apostle. What was their name, Rosian?"
So Rita herself or maybe her relatives since they only mentioned the family name, was the owner of Rail Zeppelin. Though Rita already ran away and just left a representative to manage the train after encountering Touko & Beo, as briefly mentioned in Mahoyo. What i quoted were some parts when the representative suddenly appeared with roses around her, and then they found out somebody on the train had been killed right after that (which sounds similar to Rose Prophecy)
>"What? But, now, there was a a white woman, with red roses..."
>"That would be the Manager's representative of the Rail Zeppelin," an unexpected voice came to the rescue as I pointed helplessly at where I saw her.
>It was the conductor that had introduced himself when we first boarded the train. His name was Rodin, if I remembered correctly.
>The Manager's representative?"
>"Yes. Since the owner of the Rail Zeppelin retired, she has been looking after it," the conductor calmly explained.
>"...the owner retired?" my master said, cutting off my question.
>"Originally, this auction was an idea proposed by the owner, but there was some trouble in the past. Since then, the owner has stayed apart from the train, leaving a representative to act in their place."
>"Trouble?"
>(Was that the story about Touko I heard about...?)

>Sanda: I'm different from the "self-indulgent" type, I like to take short instances of lore like words or phrases, receive and work out the details. For example the Mystic Eye Collection Train (a detail introduced in Mahou Tsukai no Yoru) only has its name mentioned. What the Mystic Eye Auction fundamentally consisted of was not talked about in Mahou Tsukai no Yoru, where the term first appeared. So in using it for the stage of the third case file, Nasu took the lore out of his box and let me incorporate it into the story. For creators writing spin-offs, there are few things more rewarding.

>Urobuchi: If he fleshed out all this interesting material there would be a lot of stories.

>Sanda: It's quite curious. Furthermore, I thought that generally the Mystic Eye Collection Train was a delicious piece of lore however, at that point Kinoko had no intention of using. That's the charm, Type-Moon is a toy box that won't break even if other people flesh out the lore.

Would Fragarach beat Enuma Elish?

>>24377260
Shirou and Saber are both people who generally don't value themselves or their right to live selfishly. By focusing exclusively on the happiness of other people, they're dodging the hard part of living that comes with accepting the past and asserting your desires, and skipping straight to absolution. If they were hypothetically living for the sake of people they knew directly, those people wouldn't be fulfilled either, because they're not quite carrying on a relationship with a well-balanced human who would be okay on their own.

Found it. And yeah, it's a bad translation. "Complacency" is especially misleading and not the word you would use in this context (reusing "conceited" would be correct or you can find a proper synonym if repetition bothers you that much). The bad line is the last one.

>そんなもの独りよがりの幸せで、相手からしてみらば不安定な喜びでしかない
Shirou is saying that his conceited version of happiness where he doesn't even care about himself and helps others looks like an unstable form of happiness from the point of view of others.
