I started my Nihongo career with a VN (Flyable Heart).

I could barely understand anything for the first few days but after powering through it for a good number of hours things started to fall into place and by the end I could understand quite a lot.

FH is super easy compared to other VNs though (as I discovered after moving on from it to another VN) so I think you have to be sensible in terms of what you start with. Starting with even an average difficulty VN will probably just leave you wanting to tear your hair out with frustration and probably won't be a very productive use of your time.

the only textbook i'm reading is genki. i use anki for vocabulary, a 10 usd app that helps associate kanji with words (shows word, asks to stroke kanji) and then i read on weekends, if i finished anki's exercises. problem with reading atm is that i need to be constantly looking up words or i don't understand how to divide the sentence because i don't know how to conjugate a verb. i've read yotsuba volume 1, like 4-5 h doujins. i want to read more porn, more yotsuba and maybe eventually something retarded like dragonball. my plan is

you need to prioritize reading, watching and listening to japanese content over all that other shit. it should be the vast majority of what you're doing. limit yourself to 15-20 minutes of anki per day and look up grammar as you encounter it on dojg or hjgp. none of the other shit you are doing will make you better at reading, only reading can do that. so if your goal is to be able to read better shit you just have to endure sucking ass for the next 6+ months and having to look up a bunch of words.

ii is the noun form of iru.
nai is the noun form of naru.
it is easy to prove half of both claims. it makes only sense to say that something becomes something if it isnt that something. and if something is good, it must first exist. proving the other way around might require some sophistry, but for ii/iru think about the x ga ii constructions where the ii in a way means theres a lot of something (like atama ga ii -> you have a high iq or a lot of neurons or whatever).
no such thing as an i adjective. only nominalized verbs.
the n in ni is the same n as the n in no.
if n wasnt so important, it wouldnt be the only consonant that doesnt have to go with a vowel (kana isnt an abujida).
take any chinese character compound. you can throw nos between them, read them with their japanese reading and the meaning will remain unchanged.
the o in no is the same o in mo, wo. it indicates materiality, things that are tangible. the a in wa and ga are the same, and indicate abstraction.
i like to think of the wa and ga particles like two place connectives. like wa is the left to right if and ga might be iff.
