Due to being a Jew-loving YHWH sucker, despite beign a fallen agenl, Sariel figures if he/she/it can delete this hethen realm, she'd get back into the good books- difficult, as her beign fallen refers to her being the sort of angel that adopted the various demonic rituals spread by the time of the goetia, ruling a civilization of magic, which ended up consumed by the very demons that empowered it-

Getting through the border caused a number on the angel- enough to leave it's exposed beating heart- but it did as the prayers requested, and destroyed the Hakurei shrine with the shrine maiden in it- killig her (Called highly responsive to prayers for a reason)

You play as Reimu Hakurei- after being revived from death- thanks to your ancesteral artefact- the yin-yang orbs, as well as likely gapfuckery- but because of this- only one of the objects works- and you have to hunt down the fucker that as far as she knew- blew up the shrine- (not aware of her her own demise) and you beat up enmeies by literally smacking the ball at them, as her death incapcitated her in more ways than one you may choose to go after kongurra- or the true culprit- Sariel.

Suffice to say= the Koonggurra route was cannon- as Sariel resides in a miasma ridden lake (pure mana?) in hell, and had two forms- and when beaten was more or less absorbed into gensokyo and reincarnated as a fairy on the spot for it's borderfuckery- the issue being that it was a wish-granting fairy- because bitch was stronk- Reimu- due to reasons unknwon, then wishes for the destruction of the univere/earth/humanity.

Likely case that this could've happened, but Keine deleted it- but aside from that- Sariel would've ended up a nonissue as it wouldn't be able to sustain itself without faith due to it's deposed nature- Reimu beats up Kongurra instead and exorcises her- going back to her shrine.

So yeah- she actually was something of a zombie- which explains the whole background (Making humans less human) Stuff yukari was doing by recycling the plot of persona 2 for that figthing game/the drugs and other shady shit that's being done to reimu over time- probably to make up for the fucked lifespan cut she got from snuffing it.
