How do I use Tenshi properly? Aside from her projectiles, that is. They seem to trump anything that isn't fired by Reisin and hers aren't exactly hard to dodge compared to some other characters I'd care to mention.

Also, I have yet to discover the button sequence for the mini version of the earth-pillar thingy spellcard.

>> No.2404437

it's 214.
What are you having trouble with?

Spam B rock.

Win.

>> No.2404447

spam C, mash A, use dash C every chance you get

A lot of her melee attacks seem to be slow and I currently have a lot of trouble fighting Sakuya as well as Patchy to an extent due to speedy aerials

Basically, how do I use Tenshi effectively in close range?

Spam B, C when long range, 66C when on the ground, and j.6A in air. Learn how to fight without using her spellcards. They're all utter crap unless you do some major level grindan.

Use superior Iku.

Be specific. The ground collapse thing (214B/C), or the rock that falls from the sky (alt-22B/C)?

First one. Sorry.

Also I get the feeling that I should just be spamming projectiles more. Works in most situations. Also dash spamming.

Her earthquake move (alternate 214B or C) is really nice. It's ungrazeable and does good damage.

Well, can't say you're wrong, but...

Also, j.2C to get some breathing room in air. Double up to catch some poor saps offguard.

I can't think of anything to explain. I just do my own thing with her, there isn't much theory behind it.
If you want to netplay, I can go for a few rounds with her.

Appreciated, but no thanks. I was mainly wondering if I could be doing something better after several rage inducing rounds against several characters on hard mode. That's about it, I guess, and thanks for the attack combinations.

Not the same guy, but I sort of wish I wasn't too shitty for netplay.

But I hardly ever play fighting games and I only started SWR yesterday ;A;

>> No.2404625

When you can do her ground and air blockstrings right, all you have to do is get the opponent to block. And thats harder than it may look with Tenshi as she is predictable as hell and has no real mixups. Also try to use crossups with j.2C and 214B/C after wakeup.

Seriously, you won't get better without it either. People think that avoiding netplay until they're "better" players is the best route, but all it does is make you another routine CPU player only to get steamrolled when you finally get the confidence to... get steamrolled. The difference? Time.

You want to get better now? Go get your ass kicked repeatedly in net games immediately. Save replays, watch replays, grind practice mode to mimic combos, experiment with different spellcards, and everytime you learn even the littlest bit from this "training", get back in the netplay and get your ass beat some more. Repeat until you're actually getting respect from other netplayers and/or tourneyfags.

I'm actually for the "beat the computer until it becomes a joke before coming to netplay" party. Even though fighting humans and CPUs are two different beasts, at least by fighting a computer you can learn basics like how to do moves and motions and just adjust your eyes to the speed of the game. Rushing right into netplay can be overwhelming, so it helps to at least have a bit of an idea of what can happen.

However, if you're more than willing to lose match after match to step up your game, then netplay is by far the fastest way to learn.

>> No.2404923

I need to get back to practicing on this game.

I still have problems remembering which move resulted in which attack, not to mention am horrible at defense and getting through defense.

For being able to spam ranged attacks to beat the computer, I'm really pretty poor at this game.

I'm trying to get into it myself, not much of a fighter player, and even less used to this game. Hate combo grindan though.

While this is true, if you play netplay against our beloved ircfriends you'll get your ass kicked into the milky way. It might be advisable to search out some weaker players or else you'll just get frustrated and quit. Even the shittiest players will at least react if you just spam the same move over and over and force you to adapt.
