Hey /jp/.

A few weeks back we had a Chun Soft thread and were talking about translating Otogirisou, but is anyone still interested?
I made a thread on romhacking.net in case anyone who knows how to hack is here.

Other than that...

If you know how to hack, I'll translate it if it looks interesting.

btw, my topic got closed... It's weird, you're not allowed to make topics in the forums if you don't have a lot of work to show, and you're not allowed to make a help wanted ad if you don't have a lot of progress made apparently.
While this system may work for hackers, who can hack some stuff and then say "Someone translate", what are translaters supposed to do?
I can't get the script out to translate it and thusly can't make a topic. Sorry, just kinda pisses me off.

>> No.2396290

>>2396199 you're not allowed to make a help wanted ad if you don't have a lot of progress made apparently.
That's weird, I always thought you could make an ad as a translator looking for technical help.
Meh, I'm sure it wouldn't be such a problem to find a rommhacker if it was for the fifth retranslation of Chrono Trigger instead instead of a Japanese sound novel.

Using the stuff from romhacking you could at least get a script from the SNES version. If it doesn't work I have a copy on an other computer.

But yeah, the playstation version is better. More choices, better graphics and sound, etc. but I doubt it's easier to translate.

>> No.2401494

>>2401478
It may not be as easy as the SNES version but it's by no means impossible.

Although then again the number of PSX games that have received a fan translation is minuscule compared to the SNES games that have.

>> No.2401557

>>2400725
PSX version is probably much easier. I'm no real romhacker, but I've messed around with ROMs and PSX data, and and PSX data is infinitely easier to hack than ROM data.
PSX CDs are just CDs with files much like PC games (although of course a lot harder to work with). ROMs have all data compressed into one small file; it probably doesn't even contain SCRIPTS, but instead just HARD-CODED TEXT.
Chances are the PSX version also uses hard-coded text, but it's much more likely for nicely editable scripts to be used in the PSX version than in the SNES version.

I haven't, but they got a bad reputation. Abiko Takemaru was only involved in the third Kamaitachi no Yoru, the second one is said to be the worst of the serie. I've read somewhere that Imabikisou kinda sucks too, and that it was only made for people waiting for 428 and having nothing else to do.
