I really can't wait for Sanda/TM to tease some stuff on twitter or reveal more info about the sequel too, also wonder if Mineji will continue being the illustrator or not since he didn't retweet or mention anything about CF sequel on his twitter. About a year ago, I made a thread first, but the maker of the second thread who was slow was annoyed by the OP and managed to convince everyone to post there instead.
This, unless the first thread is a troll thread is wrong, the early bird should always get the worm.
So from now on, any OP I don't enjoy is meh, or is I outright dislike it it will be something else.
All because they found mine meh, and they had a powertrip.

Whether that future is near or far is to be seen.

>> No.23901240

>>23901007
That was always a hard cope. FGO is now over 5 years old. How many gazillions do you need to work on things that you care about? Mahoyo certainly didn't have gazillions in budget, and visually speaking it's miles above anything in FGO, despite the latter having a far greater budget and arguably better technology at hand.
The idea that TM needed to sell their souls to the most braindead mainstream content possible to then use the profits gained from it for passed on projects, has always been hilariously asinine when you consider that everything post-Mahoyo is done as cheaply as possible, and it isn't as if TM even needed the money in the first place. They were always a successful studio.
Nasu and Takeuchi are just gold diggers. Plain and simple. Nasu would be content playing shitty video games all day while doing his nth interview about Fate/stay night. He is a lazy shit

>> No.23902228

>>23901240
No joke, the only reason TYPE-MOON exists is because Takeuchi took Nasu aside, told him "Stop wasting your talents and write a proper novel. I'll support you." So they started a website together on which Nasu started his webnovel "Kara no Kyoukai". But the site wasn't getting much traffic, so Takeuchi said "let's make a VN as advertisement fo KnK". So they moved in together and Takeuchi had Nasu write full time while Takeuchi would work to support them both, while in the evenings he'd work on the art. The only qualification that Takeuchi enforced for inducting members into their circle was being able to get along well with Nasu. And then he turned TYPE-MOON into a full legal company purely as a vehicle for Nasu to write more novels.

Type-Moon has always been entry level, but GO ushered in a new age of low quality content. Takeuchi's going to milk out whatever little creativity Nasu has left while shooting down any fun ideas just like he did with original Fate draft, now distilled to maximize whaling in one of the worst gachas in the market

Then we get another samey Ufotable adaptation years later with all the budget dumped into fight scenes

Arcueid was explicitly written and designed based on an actual french model that Takeuchi had some kind of crush on. It's pretty common in the fandom community to create 'gift' content in which you deliberately pander to a specific friend or colleague, which is exactly what Arcueid is, and exactly why her romance with Tohno Shiki is written as a ditzy foreigner girl being a tourist in Japan and having a fling with a local. Also why despite being written like Ryougi Shiki genderbent, Tohno Shiki is designed to look like Mikiya, who in turn is made to resemble Takeuchi. That their love-at-first-sight moment is Shiki cutting Arc into 30-some pieces was obviously meant to troll Takeuchi. I would assume that by this point they had been together long enough that this sort of thing would pass for couples humour rather than anything threatening.

>No Nasu, you don't get it. The Vampire chick should look like this cute french model from this fashion magazine. And we meed maid, everyone loves maids. And sex, don't forget the sex.
>Oh, you don't want to write sex? Okay, I'll do it for you
>Silly Nasu, nobody buys otome games. Make the MC a guy and turn King Arthur into a hot blonde chick that looks like Hisui. Also, make Rider a girl. Trust me on this. Also, the loli should be approcheable instead of batshit crazy, we can sell more merch this way.

How much you enjoy CCC depends entirely of how hard you believe/ are willing to convince yourself that all the sex innuendo over the entire game actually serves a point and not just entirely a result of Nasu playing bayonetta and liking it. There's multiple lengthy conversations about one of the characters refusing to wear underwear for example.

and the gameplay is still just Extra, except they made stat distribution automatic. Not worth it for the gameplay for sure.

What? Takeuchi was the one making up weird ideas like Emiya Alter, Santa Alter, a watergun Artoria, and Maid Alter with a sniper rifle watergunl. He was also the one who made the SQ in FGO worth way more twice so he doesn't seem to be the guy in it just for a cashgrab either. He does have issues with lazy sameface and reused poses for some of his art but when he puts in the work he does it really good and is probably on the high end for being creative (if a little bit over designed) with costumes for servants he draws. I don't think Takeuchi sold his soul.

Tonally it's not too similar to anything else Fate, but I found that a nice change of pace from the usual formula. Plus Erice is a genuinely enjoyable MC.

My biggest complaint would be that it's a bit short, so it leaves a lot of unanswered questions about the setting. But that should get fixed with the collab + Vol. 2.

Is that how it is in the Fate world version? Because based off quick googling, it seems that she's supposed to be daughter of the Demon of the 6th Heaven (no relation to Nobu, or rather it's where Nobu got the nickname). And in some variation of the tale, she became the consort of Raikou's ancestor, so I thought they might play on those two conceptual connections instead.

Obligatory Fate/Zero mention. Back before FGO it probably used to be the main entry point into the fandom for a while, and not without reason. It aint perfect but for what it is its engaging, has some great characters and works as a great companion piece to F/SN, at least in my opinion.

The other guy mentioned Case Files, and while I haven't read it, I can at least say I liked the single season of anime that came out. I wasn't blown out by it but I undoubtedly enjoyed it, and the Rider scene at the end caught me completely off guard and made me actually feel stuff. Once again, thanks F/Z. I'll be eagerly awaiting for s2 of this one, I've grown quite fond of some of the cast and it's really great to see Waver interacting with different parts of Nasuverse lore.

The other guy mentioned Prisma, but that's not such a sure sell for me. I enjoyed some parts of it quite intensly, but at least for me a big part of S2 were almost unwatchable. Might be an unpopular opinion, but the sheer amount of lolicon bait and sol filler in that season put me off to the point of dropping, and I only forced myself through it when 3rei came out. Maybe the manga was better, dunno.

Anti-Army, rank A+
Acting out his legend, the warrior-king calls upon the spectres of his great army to recreate the greatest cavalry charge in military history. The size of the manifestation can be limited in order to suit smaller skirmishes, while unleashing its full power can shatter an army (extremely mana-intensive, with the servant's limited mana capacity limited the NP's scale unless really needed is highly advised). In addition to causing significant damage, the combination of the charge's incredible speed with the clouds of dust it brings and the incredibly loud noise made by all the hussar's wings have a disorienting effect on the target(s), decreasing their ability to defend themselves for some time upon activation.

Class Skills:
Riding A
Magic Resistance E

Personal Skills:
Charisma B
Tactics A
Hussar's Wings C- = decreases the power of both mounts and mounted foes faced by Rider.
Lion of Lechistan D = seen by many in his time as a protector of the catholic faith, Rider benefits from a weak defensive ability similar in some ways to divine protection. It is not caused by any sort of divine intervention, nor is it a boon for his own sarifice for his faith - it reflects the belief of both his people and enemies that this person was a champion to his religion.

Sabre
Pistol
Cavalry Lance (extremely long, only usable when mounted).
Horse - not a named beast of any prominence, just an image of a good horse from the royal stables. Rider is able to gallop on both land and sky while riding his horse, that is however caused by his own legend as a winged horseman, rather than the horse's own ability.

Wish for the grail - prevent his death from obesity and put himself back in shape, so that he can actually go back and try reforming his degrading state, in order to both set up his own dynasty and prevent his country's eventual fall.

I don't claim to be some sort of objective authority on this issue, and if you've been in these threads for any amount of time you've likely heard my complaints about Arc's redesign, but for me the crucial thing that the new redesign -- other than complaints about Takeuchi's diminishing artstyle in general -- is probably the lack of suitable contrast inherent in it, something which, whether intentional or not, always struck me as genius about her old design. Arc is really a character of stark contrasts overall; showing incredible maturity and wisdom in some regards, but on the other hand shows equally incredibly immaturity and naivete in others. Her old design exuded this facet of duality, what with its dated -- almost regal --aesthetics that contrasted well with her otherwise youthful looks and personality. The new redesign simply just makes her look like a JK. She's thoroughly thinned out, both in body and in hair, and she now rocks an outfit which is a lot more contemporary with what you'd expect to see a youth wear. Though even then I would say there's a lot of weird, superfluous details like the necklace and boots that simply look out of place. Perhaps the necklace is supposed to be significant to the story, or something.

As far as Ciel is concerned, she's just more homogeneous now; her hair is more or less in line with the rest of the cast thanks to the new bangs, and it's a shame they couldn't "update" her design without losing her unique visual qualities. I remember back when her redesign was unveiled in 2012, a common remark amongst the Japanese was confusion as to whether or not it was even Ciel. Maybe she'll get her old look back when she goes Powered mode or something.

Akiha is just Homura now.

My biggest question about the redesigns, even after all these years, is simple: why? Why did these characters have to be redesigned in the first place?

I just listed a bunch of reasons in my post above, but honestly the issue for me wasn't primarily due to the miniskirt overall, even if the long skirt is more aesthetically appealing to me.

Thanks, although I don't think it being long/more developed isn't really a sign it's good. With levels of autism such as mine, I run a risk of extreme bloat, if anything. I was mostly concerned of that and maybe having my own biases reflected on the servant.

All in all, the idea for Sobieski is that he's all around a pretty unimpressive for the most part, with his only saving grace being his nuke NP and things related to it, like his commanding ability and high riding skills. This seems quite appropriate since his NP is quite legendary even outside his country, but beside that his reign wasn't all that significant. I hope the thing I wrote down works its intended role.

Rn I'm thinking of statting Mehmed the 2nd as kind of a coutnerpart. I'm undecided on his class yet - the first idea was Archer, although I'm floating the thought of a Saber wielding the Sword of Osman- but what I do know is that he has an EX Anti-Fortress NP that instakills any Roman servants in addition to being a pretty powerful volley of cannon fire.

A scientist of some renown. Usually, such a person would have no reason to be recorded within the throne of heroes, however this one was "dragged along" as basically a figurehead for the hated creation he's most associated with. Knowing this, the servant is filled with immesurable grief at the power that the thing he helped built holds within the collective human psyche.

Mankind's Death (fake) EX - Caster became a servant not by his own deeds, but by the association with the blazing hole created within the collective human consciousness by what he and his coworkers unleashed upon the world. To Caster's despair, the collective fear that humanity lived with for the following decades has manifested itself as this passive skill. As the face most associated with possible destruction, Caster became an entity that - in humanity's eyes - can be seen as similar to death itself. Due to this, Caster can emanate an aura that causes absolute terror of death within nearby humans.

Noble Phantasm:
Death, Destoyer of Worlds
Anti-Humanity, rank EX++
The very thing that the collective human psyche considers to be their destruction. The power that should never have been harnessed, this Noble Phantasm is pure, senseless slaughter to all within its great reach, friend and foe alike. Its sheer power can be seen as similar to a true magic, except it is completely devoted to erasing all traits of humanity within its reach. Caster's boundless contempt for his creation means he will probably never release it by his own voliton. While it can be activated remotely if prepared, Caster would probably prefer to be the first hit by it if he ever has to activate it.

Wish for the grail: To erase his own records from the Throne of Heroes. Caster hates being the face associated with humanity's doom and wishes to be forgotten.

Mehmet being a saber is a stretch if you ask me. Having him in rider and archer is just more natural. Also his np feels like it should rip through buildings and magical territories since the function of those cannons were to destroy walls and other defensive structures. Giving him a very low rank of divinity might be a good idea too as ottoman rulers are thought to be given their position by god and took double duty as the religious leaders of muslims after a war against the arabs.

Since we're making servants now I'l take a crack at it too.

Thoughts on the Tsukihime manga?

nasu and takeuchi praise it so much, they have to make the remake that much better to compete

source: http://tsukikan.com/misc/the-next-world-of-type-moon.html

Takeuchi: "The original doujin game is something that is very hard to come by nowadays, so we feel bad for not releasing a remake for those who have always wanted to try out this game. If one wants to know the content of the story, one can go read the manga Shingetsutan Tsukihime. The manga version is a pictorial representation of Nasu's work. The excellence of the Tsukihime manga has also become a great challenge that we need to surpass for the Tsukihime remake (laughs).

>> No.23976269

>>23967457

>>23967498
it was Takeuchi's idea to change Touko's design. Meanwhile, Nasu was the one to ask Takeuchi to give Arcueid a skirt, in order to fit the "big city" theme more. Incidentally, Misaki, the town Tsukihime takes place in, was changed from a small city to a major metropolitan area, and the scope is honestly far bigger than what the original Tsukihime or Melty Blood portrayed it to be. The change in Arcueid's design was apparently decided on in order to reflect that.

>Takeuchi: As everyone already knows, Tsukihime is the doujin game from when we first started. Since its release, the doujin group TYPE-MOON became a company, and works like Fate were released, so we've always been thinking when to commercialize Tsuhime. However, time constraints became more and more frequent, and we missed many opportunities to do a remake. The doujin group TYPE-MOON was formed in the summer of 1999, next year will be our 10th anniversary. This is a great time for a remake, or rather, if we miss this opportunity again, we won't get another chance. So we thought that we can't let this chance go no matter what.

>This remake will need to satisfy the needs of both players who played the original Tsukihime 10 years ago as well as those who just recently came into contact with it; this is a fine balance that is one of the biggest difficulties facing us. Not to say knowing where to begin is already something very scary. In the past we simply say to each other "so when are we going to remake Tsukihime?" Just presenting it in the same form as the original game would be an embarrassment to us. As a result, we're not facing a difficult battle (laughs). Production will officially begin after Witch on the Holy Night is finished, the reason we announced it so early is because announcing them together creates more impact, please understand (sweat).

Jeanne was based of real student french girl according to Takeuchi. The student was same college where Takeuchi study, before he met someone as model of Arcueid Brunestud’s design from Tsukhime come to his mind.

> Takeuchi: Maybe it's because I'm always working on galgame, but I'm somewhat opposed to changing a female lead's outfit. I feel a character's clothe is also part of his or her design, which is why Arcueid from ?Tsukihime? has been wearing the same outfit for the past 10 years (laughs).

> Ishii: This makes sense if you really think about it, (laughs) but I also can't really picture Arcueid wearing anything else.

Avalon is above True Magic, at least if the original description hasn't been retconned.
It is a 6D construct, that is complex multiversal tier.
True Magic at most could reach infinite multiversal, that being high 5th dimensional.
Akasha for reference is at least 11D, likely hyperversal and possibly even outerversal.

>With regards to Artoria Lily, Santa Alter, and Emiya Alter, it was Takeuchi’s fault. They were extraneous from a scenario perspective so it wasn’t a writer’s idea. Just Takeuchi going “I want a cute character” and “I want an Alter for Emiya”. For example, the writer’s side wouldn’t suggest an Emiya Alter since an Emiya fallen to evil couldn’t be said to be Emiya. But since Takeuchi wanted it, they rethought the matter and came up with a special case where it could be possible. And after rethinking and rewriting that concept, they came up with a character that was actually popular with the players and added more to the story by his presence.

It's like this thread, the one before it, and the one after it.

TL;DR is that the Requiem collab isn't actually written by Meteo, they got some guy meteo knows to ghost write it. Said guy then proceeds to tweet on twitter that he wrote it and delets said tweet within 24 hours.
Then in the actual event Erice says shit like:
1. Guda is full of himself and uses servants like toys
2. Chaldea is a shady organization funded by a fucking Magus
3. There's probably servant brainwashing involved since it makes literally 0 fucking sense that all these servants with different personalties and ideals love Guda who is a literal nobody with talents for nothing
4. "Does a world that only advance forward by borrowing the power of the dead really have a future?"
as you can imagine the playerbase, both on 4chan and in japan is split between calling her based for calling out the shit MC and writing and people deeply upset that she dared to insult the holy self insert.
It doesn't help that she's the welfare servant, which means that she will 100% lose her points of view and personality to become another walking onahole and join Chaldea

Funny how Erice accidentally does have some fair points in this argument eventhough to be fair, she barely knows anything about Chaldea and those opinions were mostly based on her personal feelings and experiences like Chitose with magus being bad or the way Erice idolizing servants + wanting to have one makes she dislike and think that the holy grail tournament horribly disrespect servants/heroes that marked their names in human history (she does think Chaldea is still better than this tho). Not to mention her wish to let the dead rest in peace and her salty feelings when Voyager goes with Chaldea.

because yeah I also think nasu writing is shit when compared to the high philosophy of most russian and german writers as an example.
But when I say that nasu is great, I mean that comparing to, I don't know, your everyday shounen/shoujo.
Also, KnK is more of a religion philosophy imo, the biggest thing in KnK for me is how the buddhist view is approached and also the schools of universe consicousness from buddhism.
Which could be "fake philosophy" in a sense, but if you understand it is more of teology based, it is easier to enjoy imo.
Unless you hate religion and buddhism, then yes, it will be shit, as the action scenes and drama are not really the forte of KnK.

in FGO world, Chaldea are trying to take back the future & protect Human Order by borrowing the power of servants aka ghosts from the past. Erice points out that FGO world has no future without overrelying on ghosts from the past.

It means exactly what it means. Yes, you do have future servants or heroic spirits like the space probe, but at the end of the day, you are solving the threats by relying on the powers of people from the past. You are not progressing using methods or powers from your own present, so to speak. To use another example, it's like how in Babylonia, they made it a big thing about breaking away from the gods so as to take a step into the age of man, and yet they can only do so because you have gods as your allies as well (Quetz, Ishtar, Eresh). Then you have things like lostbelts where worlds that either progress too far or stagnant will run the risk of getting pruned. So at what point can your world be considered 'just right' and safe from not getting pruned if threats are dealt with by relying powers from the past?

It depends on the scale you're looking at.
The Root and what lies beyond it exceeds True Magic, after all it is derived from it.

>Effects on the Level of True Magic
>Although generally speaking “there are five True Magics”, this number does not reflect “effects that rival True Magics”. There are several examples in the story. Many Mystic Codes and creatures that exist in the world are also “shaped through True Magic”. Finally, there are those without definite shapes, but only exist “in motion”.
>A representative example of this last category is Assassin Kojiro Sasaki’s secret sword technique “Tsubame Gaeshi”. It is an ultimate technique which consists of the blade absolutely, simultaneously tracing separate paths and severing the target. In thaumaturgy, this is called “Multidimensional Refraction Phenomenon – Kischua Zelretch”, in other words, a limited application of the Second Magic “Operation of Parallel Worlds”.
>In addition, reality marbles, the sorcery that overwrites reality with the caster’s internal landscape, is also thought to be a skill that approaches the miracle of True Magic. Although temporary, there are not too many magi who are able to execute this World-altering grand sorcery.

>•Avalon: The Everdistant Utopia
>The matching “scabbard” of the holy sword Excalibur. The wielder does not age, and injuries will also quickly heal.
After invoking its true name, Avalon dissipates as tiny particles into the air, and shields the wielder from all interference. No damage can be done to the wielder when a state of absolute defence is initiated. Even interference from the parallel world based on the Second Magic will be blocked. An “absolute defence” that can even repel the assault of True Magic, it is a True Magic in itself. No one can harm the tranquil King that stands in the land of Avalon.
The rest of this list are Caster's magic at Ryuudou temple, phantasmal species, servants's spatial transportation and Zelretch's treasure chest btw
