A lot of the stuff look really cheap in comparison to some other recent mobages especially the chink ones with dubiously high budgets. The ragdoll animations look really good(I'm being generous here) for the OG anime gang but the original and new characters have some really shitty animations where their entire sprites swing way too much while in action

So I used the same party the entire way up, changing out the leader to match element and subcards for everyone else. I might even finally get out of my League if my ranking stays put.

What's odd, is all of the dark-weak boss floors are completely locked out. Which is unfortunate because I have two other dark limited cards that reduce the boss' turn gauge. Possibly could've turn-delayed the boss forever.

I don't see why not. The game has a year or so of mileage left before doomposting stops being just shitposting. It's very easy to get into at any point, new players are showered with gems, tickets and mats, and events are rerun all the time. It's a PVE game with a multiplayer focus so you don't actually need to have the latest powercreep, but it's true the oldest characters hit for peanuts compared to new ones so you may feel like you're dead weight if you use an old character. There used to be three sorts of gachas.

4* Project were the fillers, and they switched out based on votes. Some were decent, most were kinda bad.
Memorials were the good characters, they got switched in for some of the 4* Projects for a shorter period.
Plus there were Special Gachas for bigger sets like Chaguma.

Special and Memorial sort of merged, and expanded to pretty much always having something up. Which makes sense, since nobody would really want to roll when it was just the Projects anyway. Also, they stopped switching in, now they're just added into the pool.

Also, they haven't bothered adding new 4* Project characters in a long time, making them even more filler since most people already have them all.

As for telling them apart, you can use the カテゴリ option on the character select sorting options.

The most important things are:

LEGEND difficult from the "Live Festa" events added permanently. You can play only five times per day, but you can recharge the plays with an item. The big jump in score to get an S reminds me of the MASTER+ from SS. This probably means some kind of powercreep is coming.

Daily Scouts suck now. 70CP cost per battle and you don't get enough rewards. Also, all the songs, regardless of the difficulty, are now 70CP per play. You can apply a 3x multiplier to both.
Related to the above, by doing them, now you get to move in the scout map automatically, instead of farming scout points to move. The map progress reset back to the beginning, but that means you can get new rewards by completing them, so it is actually a good thing.

The most important update is that you can "i-n-g" all the idols, including rivals and 7th Sisters. Now instead of playing annoying minigames, you level up by playing songs or battling. Also, the level cap for i-n-g, both for the player (lv50) and the idols (lv20), increased.
In a certain way, this is powercreep, since most 7th Sisters cards were pretty strong before the update.

Skill cancel and damage cancel cards, preferably with not only high ATK, but also the +ATK whole subunit member skill (people tend to forget this last part). The raid/live jack team meta shouldn't have been affected by the update, I think.

For raid teams I recommend at least 2 skill cancel cards and 2 damage cancel cards with high ATK, and for live jack teams I recommend 3 skill cancel cards (preferably Nanasta cards), of which at least one has high HP. Ideally Haru BDS/Shirayuki 2043/Mito's 5th P.

Additionally for raid teams, if you already have the skill cancel and damage cancel cards but you don't have other strong cards, have Kyoko's Twilight PS card because that card's +ATK leader skill is insane, and raid teams are recommended to have one of those as well. EnStM's live mechanics are based off GBP's. BP functions the same way as LB do and both have a maximum cap of 10. The only difference is that GBP has a much fairer system and lets you save drinks.
