Is there no distinction between the n+g sound and the ng dipthong phoneme in japanese? Like is there no way to transcribe ”fishing" in a way that pronouncing フィシング will be fishi/ŋ/ and not fishingu? Do you just write フィシン for that?

turns out the problem was something or other to do with gamma. i don't know what exactly was wrong, but after experimenting with the gamma setting i managed to achieve a consistent result among how image editors and viewers display the image and web browsers (+ anki) display the image.

here's the imagemagick command to convert the hjgp images properly:

saw this on reddit today, made me sad that there are no good horror anime like this. parasyte was kinda similar but the show wasnt very good as a whole. i guess devilman crybaby took it to the extreme and the animation was nice but everything else sucked.

I started studying japanese with the sources I got here, I'm in the process of remembering the kana and kanji, but there's something that's bothering and concerning me.
Look how different the kana can be with different fonts.
That "ri", I noticed this now, the standard computer font show the "ri" as a single line, not two lines like I was seeing with the standard font on Real Kana. At first I though that was another character.

But ok, I guess. I'll keep making this exercise every day indefinitely and I can learn the differences using each font, or so I hope.
