I like their tech culture. They're among the cutting edge for shit we don't really need but are fucking awesome. Example: Maid robots.

I like their sexuality. It's only in Japan you can have so much free sexuality in 2D form. From sexualizing prepubescent children, to gore to Futa to tentacle/alien rape. Japan has the power to sexualize anything and everything. And there term of sexualizing swings more to the cute than sexy.

I like their comics and cartoons. I grew up on American comics and eventually I got bored. But since I only got into animu 14 years ago everything seems fresh and they target people in my age group. I know my anime will be rife with action, sexual innuendos, violence and semi-serious plots and situations. I can rarely have that with American cartoons.

Finally is the aesthetic culture. I already covered a bit of it with animu and manga, but that's just a small part. Their songs, traditional art, traditions, lore and stories are all new to me. All these combined to make me a weeaboo.

Japan is a horrible country, where everyone treats everyone else like shit. The culture of turtling in and going to fantasy realms to fulfill basic human desires is therefore rampant. This lends to the creation of some of the most visceral, crazy, touching media in the world.
