The Japanese usually pronounce it てい, but てゐ would probably have been pronounced more like てうい.

If you're going for the current pronunciation, use "tei", rhyming with "may". If you're going for the classical pronunciation, don't use a hard "w" sound, it would be more like "te-ui", rhyming with who the fuck knows.

If I were speaking Japanese, I'd pronounce it "Tei"

If saying her name in English, I'd probably say "Tewi", but I can't imagine a situation where I'd have to say her name aloud in an Engish conversation anyway.

Either way, I suppose it's something kind of like the word karaoke.
