Takoluka, or Octo-Luka, are the parasitical larval Megurine Lukas so commonly see in fan-art of the popular Vocaloid.
They are birthed alive, usually in packs of 10 or more.
Their favorite food, aside from humans, is tuna fish.

If fed a steady diet of tuna fish and rice, a Takoluka will slowly evolve into a fully grown female Megurine Luka.
Their tentacles lengthen and take on the appearance of hair through the same camouflage deep-sea octopi use to disguise themselves.

Occasionally a rogue gene will show itself in the maturation of the Takoluka, resulting in it having two genders than the ordinary one.
This means that they are Primarchs, or queens that can start their own colonies of Lukas through the impregnation of the females.

They will also have an increased drive to breed, often birthing litters of twenty or more Takolukas at once.

Takoluka are equipped to infect and change human beings.
Once it has wriggled atop its victims' head, latching on with its strong tentacles, the Takoluka will then insert a slender feeler arm through the unfortunate human's skin between the vertebral bones just below the base of the skull and into the spinal cord.
Once it has fully assimilated the human's biorhythmics and neural networks, it will physiologically mutate the human into a perfect copy of Megurine Luka, with some slight differences in height or age.
It fits perfectly over the human head, as a living 'mask' of sorts, grafted perfectly to its skin.
Males are usually equipped with female reproductive organs, so as to ensure the spread of the Takoluka in the area.
Females retain their single gender, unless they are unlucky enough to be fed upon by a Takoluka that can mature into a Primarch Luka.

Colonies of Lukas who have grown in the wild, usually under the care of a Primarch, will maintain close relationships with each other in a sort of commune/phyle.

The Primarch usually retains control over the phyle, acting as a mother-figure to the Lukas.
Most Lukas exist in a peaceful symbiosis with the Earth, bartering with nearby humans for some things, or selling members of the phyle to slave traders.

Lukas are often sought out as pleasure or entertainment slaves, gaining high status in households, and commanding a royal price at auctions.
They are renowned for their beautiful voices and artistic natures, able to compose songs, write music, and improvise, amongst other things.

Lukas are also talented in arts of the flesh, often having been trained by none other than the Primarchs or their own 'sisters' since their flowering.

Some think it strange or cruel to sell their own kind into slavery to the humans, but they are usually treated with the highest esteem.

It is also a necessary measure to ensure that the phyle does not grow overpopulated.

An infestation of Takoluka can result in the population of Lukas exploding at any given place if they infect humans.

Takoluka get around by wriggling on their eight tentacles.
These tentacles are very strong and dexterous, allowing it to do quite a few things humans can, such as opening a jar or pushing open an aquarium.

Because of this, keeping Takoluka in one place is quite difficult.
The non-invasive method of infection they use is also nearly un-noticeable until it is too late, and the transformation process is said to be intensely euphoric as well.

Pulling a Takoluka away while it is infecting a human will cause fatal trauma to the Takoluka and the human, since the feeler arm can reach quite far into the spinal cord.

Careful surgical procedure can be used to excise a Takoluka without harm to the carrier, but the victims were usually left in a catatonic state afterward.

I made a backstory for the origin and existence of Takolukas, as well as Luka in general.

You don't have to acknowledge it if it turns you off, but it's some diverting Original Content that I came up with in my spare time.

Anonymous kept insisting that I was trolling whenever I wandered into a takoluka thread and warned them that placing one on their head would result in them becoming a Luka, dismissing it as an attempt to Yukkuri-ize Takoluka.

In reality, it's not as simple as that. You can't just rip a Takoluka off like a Yukkuri, and there is a method to the way Takolukas infect humans.

Plus, I figured that if that penipenipenipeni dude can make Original Content about futanari alien things that explore thousands of fetishes all at once, then I can make something in that spirit for /jp/.
