I'm thinking of trying out Touhou for the first time, but I have a few questions first:

1. Is it strictly for the pedo crowd, or is there healthy content? Or is it safe-moe?
2. Which games should I play in what sequence?
3. What about other media? Any important manga or radio dramas I should know about?
4. Where can I find them for download? I did a cursory check of the ususal places, didn't find much.

1. The games aren't sexualized at all, fan content varies from pedo to healthy.
2. Play the best ones first, the story doesn't matter at all. SA > UFO demo > MoF > EoSD > PCB > IN > PoFV > STB

It's only pedo if you look into things besides the games. ZUN can't draw well enough for it to be decidedly pedo.

Shoot the Bullet first to learn the basics. Then Phantasmagoria of Flower View. That's what most of us play since it has more replay value. If you really like those, you might want to check out the rest. They aren't as good, though. Just pick a character and figure out which game they make their five minute cameo in.
