I have no idea if you're being sarcastic or not, but it would seem that so far nobody in that particular circlejerk community has come close - that said, it had an extended development time, so maybe all they really need to do is spend a lot more time on the scenario, rather than rushing things and coming up with writing that wouldn't look out of place on a second-grader's creative writing assignment.

(From what I've seen, the original art and music is fine - easily matches the majority of freeware doujin works. The scenario writing is what needs the most work)

I'm also kind of looking forward to see how it turns out, although my expectations are rather low.

Problem is, this project is a bit like 'lol look we're going to do the same thing the Japanese are doing', whereas a good VN needs more originality than that (unless you're extremely good at making VNs, but very few VN creators can get away with a lack of originality). I don't think just the 'lol cripple' thing will be enough to make it stand out.
