Tohno Shiki is bad at killing concepts and processes over physical objects. His head explodes when he tries to locate the lines of it.

Nanaya Shiki doesn't have the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. He gets pissed and cuts up a bitch.
Nightmare Nanaya wouldn't be able to afflict anything beyond the boundaries of the Night of Wallachia, so all it would do is make a fucked up Reality Marble get more fucked up for 12 hours before the world resets such a wrongdoing.

It's not just 'Hey, this kind of setting could actually exist' that matters, it's 'If that setting ACTUALLY existed, what I see in the story could happen and it's interesting to read'.
That's why the spend a long time in these stories to also make you understand the mentality of the people involved (since in realistic settings it's more or less the one we already have)
