Also, while "just" a short story, it's pretty decent short story. There's less of it than there is, say of Tsukihime or even of DDD, but what is there is of no less value. To me, at any rate.

Some stuff from Case Files mats
- One of Waver's greatest accomplishments is organizing and editing the magic theory notes left behind by Kayneth. This specific effort is confirmed to be result of Waver trying to revert Gray's "Saberfacification"
- The cigar Waver smokes is confirmed to be a simple mystic code he carries. This is inspired by an alcoholic magus who taught Waver "Suit and cigar are weapons of man."
- It was mentioned at one point that Gray's family/village is that of Artoria's distant relatives, but Sanda confirmed the more accurate description is family injected with Artoria's bio-traits.

- The name Add is referring to both "ADDition" and "RhongomyniAD"
- The Round Table Decision mechanism of Rhongo is its active copy of the same mechanism behind Excalibur due to later's beauty.
- Gray's dread of spirits is both a personal trauma but also by design as Astoria's physical vassal.
- While Reines became head of Archibalds, she insisted to keep her original last name Archisorte as her little way of defiance to the fate she was forced into.
- Reines had a butler that taught her most things about political game and power manipulation, but this said figure was no longer around her by the time of Case Files.
- After events of Case Files, Reines finally gained control of her mystic eye, which facilitated her greatly in her magical achievement befitting of future Lord. Her specialty is "overlaying magecraft on other magecraft".
- Trimmau's artificial intelligence can gain massive amount of knowledge through Flat's magecraft, even though it came with the cost of TONS of useless information like wrestling term or movie quotes.

- Flat's magic circuit is accumulate result of millennium of bloodline heritage, but manifest in the form of seemly mutation.
- The main reason of Flat not able to graduate is actually less about his bizarre conduct but simple fact of him sucking at close quarter combat that is required course. Sanda gave an example of him trying to use drop-kick in actual practice just because it is "cool"(and approved by Luvia)

- Svin's ability is declared to be closer to actual phantasmal werewolf and compared to animal-possession practice in Japanese myth.

- Hishiri's glasses is no other but Mystic Eye Killer that Tohno Shiki and Medusa wear. It is to seal her own mystic eye that can detect lost objects, which gave Hishiri enormous advantage in investigation.
- Hishiri had ENORMOUS amount of fun teasing her kouhai

- The setting of Heartless teaching his past self due to the fairy magic is a direct homage of Archer Emiya's influence on Shirou.
- Heartless considered his final days with Faker the calmest time of his life as he has absolutely no issue trusting fellow victim of betrayal like Faker, and vice versa.

- Faker is better drinker than every single individual in Iskandar's army, including Iskandar himself.
- Hephaestion confirmed to be a sis-con and cared alot about his sister Faker. Similar to Faker, he can also wield Iskandar's NPs as his doppelganger.

- While knowledgeable, Luvia didn't really care about the political game in Clock Tower, as she considering it trivial comparing to the ones Edelfelts involve in Finland.
- Luvia has tendency to fall for "gentleman" and has desire to serve such individual if she encounters...

- While Heine has the nickname "Knight" for his demeanor, he open remarked it is not a title bestowed by the Queen of UK as "such noble title can't be bestowed by mortal nobility." This is reflection of his past service to the Church.
- Rosalind (Heine's younger sister) was protected by Reines post the event of Separation Castle after Heines trgically died and the family lost his head.
- Jiroubou, both the victim and culprit of Separation Castle arc, became guardian of Rosalind after the event and was involved in a few incidences against other magical organization post Case Files.

- Touko had visited Albion before.
- Touko was able to remove her seal designation due to some form of encounter between her and the department's head. The details remain a mystery.
- Post the Iselma event, Atrum bothered Waver on weekly basis, and right before the 5th War, he somehow allied with Melvin and Yvette in a mysterious event.
- Also, Atrum thinks an Asian having the rank Grand must be a mistake

- The magecraft behind Gold Princess and Silver Princess was originally intended to be composed one male and one female to represent Ying and Yang, but was tweaked later on into two females instead.
- The twin maid of the twin princess in actuality is triplet and Waver wrote to the last sibling so she can live on in her sisters' place.

- Caules using electricity magecraft is suggestion from Strange Fake's author Narita as a cross-timeline connection to Fran.
- As user of artificial mystic eyes, Yvette had modified her own brian 50+ times to be able to make it flexible to varied mystic eye powers. It is a miracle of her keeping sanity and personality after all these.
- Trisha's actions, as hinted, was to provide Olga with political leverage against her father Marisbury by gaining hand on rainbow class mystic eyes and revealing the serial murder event Marisbury was involved
- Karabo's slash amplified by his mystic eye can't be guarded physically or magically (explaining why Faker got hit by them).

- It is hinted Zepia might have connection to fairy king Oberon as his last name suggests.
- Fernando, the Catholic priest at Gray's village, regretted the decision of reporting Gray's transformation to the Church. He was also the one who taught Gray prayer despite knowing she is not religious and taught the later that religion is secondary when it comes to act that can calm people's mind.
- Sister Irmina's weapon Grey Lock is the simpler-to-use Church weapon in contrast to Black Keys.

- Rulfurus, the Lord of Spiritual Evocation and Sola-Ui's dad, confirmed to be head of another magus family with Grand Order/Alphamega Nogeuse. In Eulyphis's case it is to find "the difference between first and last spirit". The vague reqeust and unclear definition made it an almost impossible task to accomplish.
- Rulfurs's look might be inspired by LOTR Saruman.
- Rulfurs is rare case of magus with 3 elemental attributes. The rings on his right hand seal spirits that contain knowledge of the past and can measure humanity, like a portable Wikipedia. The ones on the left seal a literal evil spirit army. The jewel on his chest appeared to seal something even more powerful.
- Rulfurus' glasses can measure the truth of a spirit.
- Also not from the mats but from the LN, the reason why people speculate that Olga's a spare heir in Case Files is because of her silence after hearing Rulfurus talking about his daughter Sola-Ui, who was also a spare heir

- McDonell, Lord of Trambellio and head of Democracy faction, is an extrovert person, relative pacifist and prefer to acknowledge others' accomplishments, allies or enemy both. This is opposite to the head of Aristocratic faction Barthomeloi's approach.
- McDonell's magic gift is that of ridiculous recovery of Od which enabled him to spam highest rank offensive magecraft for an hour straight. Thanks to this, his burning magecraft is simple yet super efficient. He only has two elements (Fire and Wind)

- Inorai (Lord of Creation department) is a woman already beyond magecraft and the political game of Clock Tower. Both aspects are like taking a walk in the park for her. It's confirmed she also taught Souren and Alba from KnK (and Touko too as mentioned in the LN).
- She has three elements (Earth, Fire, Wind). The way her magecraft works is similar to how the El-Melloi use Volumen Hydrargyrum but she uses sand instead of mercury. It requires a lot of magical energy and it's very difficult to use if you are not great at this kind of magecraft aka "Creation". In the LN, Inorai was able to tie, control and move Trimmau away with just a little amount of sand.

Sion herself did say her bond had been cut off from human history which might have something to do with the "DAs deny human history" thing. Artificial blood is the only thing she needs to sustain her life eventhough per Nasu's diary, she becomes a bloodsucker due to her admiration to Zepia and her vampiric impulse is super weak. You also have Captain's line in LB4 that "Sion is a good person but she's not a human". She also has the Void Cell though it's not clear if she created it or she just took it from Atlas. In FGO, the Void Cell is still said to be something that isn't created in this world (its origin has been revealed in Extella by the way). Basically, nuSion has some weird shit around her.

I like Fate. Though I acknowledge its flaws, it is the only route that really works as a stand-alone story without modifying content or omitting vital information. Its main issues are its shortness and the fact that half of its length is spent in loredumps. Saber has the best chemistry with Shirou by far, supported by the fact that you have to go out of your way to not interact or care about her in order to get UBW True, and HF's best ending is a bad end that has her as the main focus (SLH).
UBW is a chuu2 story, except the edgelord is the adult instead of the actual teenager, and relies too much on Fate's characterisation, in addition to the reader being a teenager, to have any true impact.
HF is a mess. It suffers from horrible pacing, is written in a way that actively makes the reader dislike the heroine, stars a damsel in distress/mass murderer with no agenda in a story about people willing to do anything to achieve their goals, and only works as a tragedy, leaving a horrible taste in the mouth as the last route of the VN with the nonsense that is its True End.
If I had my way, the ideal route would be an expanded Fate that incorporates the key elements of UBW and HF without the unnecessary edge. Basically DEEN Fate done right.

It doesn't really do much with Shirou's flaws if they have nothing to do with Saber.
The protagonist is a fucking madman and the route resolves none of his true flaws.
Its antagonists are also the barest with lolGilgamesh and Kotomine only showing his "dude, watching people suffer is fucking fun" facet.

Fate's focal point isn't the resolution of Shirou's conflict, but Saber's. It is, at its core, a "boy meets girl" story where in the end, their meeting ends up saving them both.
Sure, you can say that by the end of the route Shirou remains in the path to become EMIYA as in UBW, but Last Episode shows that the end result is for him to reach Avalon instead of remaining a CG because of a fundamental difference: becoming a hero is no longer his goal but his path, since his true objective is to reach Saber.
Gilgamesh's characterisation is plain bad in the entire VN, not just Fate, and Kirei fills his role of an antagonist well enough in the route.

Aside from their staff being huge pieces of ass, it comes hand in hand that they pay their translators pennies. This is known throughout translators looking for jobs, that you MUST AVOID MANGAGAMER. They will do almost anything to pay you so little you can't eat or pay you nothing at all. They suck off your passion to get your favorite work translated and out there for people to enjoy. You would probably be better off working a minimum wage job and then fan-translating on the side. That's how little they pay.
And of course, the higher-up's horrible demand for pumping out the trash that they hope sells much better than the stuff people actually want (see the contradiction?). Their drive for money is goddamn disgusting. Their sole reason for localizing as much as they do is to try as hard as they can to go mainstream on at least one game.

I'll give them one thing, however, and its that they are 100% right that Rance fans are the worst kind of people. What they don't realize though is that MangaGamer would be bankrupt without them. Hmm with Aniplex launching their own VN brand there's a small chance that they'll get the license, but being honest here, I think the main reason why Fate/SN is not out oficially is because either T-P doesn't want the game to come out or the licensing price they're asking for is really expensive.

Pretty much the reason why TM had to reuse a seiyuu for 3, 4 roles back in FGO early days. Obviously this isn't the case anymore considering new characters (the Crypters, new servants) in FGO or Case Files anime all have brand new VAs that haven't voiced any TM characters before.

Not really the type to relate to any character, even the so-deemed relatable ones, in any medium, anime, TV shows, anything. Aoko was probably the only one. Too much like myself. Since Nasu basically explains every facet of her character in Mahoyo in detail, I was able to work out a couple of things for myself. Stuff like only motivation that's needed is my own self-motivation, doesn't regret decisions, what others think doesn't matter because I'm my own biggest criticizer, etc. The events with her abandoning normal life to become a Magus aren't similar (of course duh), but in theory, what I went through had the exact same effect and the way we both dealt with that was basically the same.
