You can tell there is shafting of mechanics of mechanics that made SaGa.... well... SaGa. The biggest hit is the "exploration" because there are no dungeon exploration system at all. I get gacha's tend to reduce a lot of things, but this one kinda hit hard in a game that is based on the fun of exploration without quest markers more then anything.
Without permadeath, a lot of the pressure from fights generally are much lower. It makes sense why, but I found no penalty for too many deaths to be a bit too forgiving. LP system being in already does a lot for the game from being a "tank and spank forever" game. Lack of on-demand party heals also stress solid comps.
The thing I dislike the most is that this game is really auto-centric. It's been better with the world raid event basically allowing people to get from midgame stat totals to entry-level endgame stat totals easily. I don't mind it too much, though. I don't expect depth in gachas.
If you want my opinion: Play SaGa Scarlet Grace or Romancing Saga 3 first before you make your decision. Or maybe both Re;Universe and a SaGa game to see why people like SaGa so much. Unlike most gachas where there is literally nothing but gacha, you have options to play either the mainline or gacha games.
idgaf if you get it by the yohoho way or the actual way, it's a pretty fun break from the monotomy of gachas in general sometimes and is on the phone. idk if I am allowed to talk about mobile ports, but it says "mobage" instead of "gacha" so eh.
tl;dr: if you are curious, try out Scarlet Grace SaGa on Google Play or Steam for $29.99. It's a pretty fun game that introduces you to SaGa better then Imperial or Re;Universe does if you are interested in one of those unorthodox JRPG's.

Just started playing DAL mobage again after a long time, there's a railgun collab happening now Mikoto is playable, and really for a limited character she's really bad man, she has the shortest range in the game coupled with skill that easily gets canceled plus she very frail, her only plus is that buff that sends electric discharges around her and her ultimate if fucking strong the thing hit from one side to the other of the stage.

I think RS3 is the best starting point for the series. Scarlet Grace is a good fifth or sixth SaGa game. I would recommend, in order: RS3 (you don't have to beat it with everybody unless you want the platinum on PS4; it's on PC/mobile/Switch/PS4), Frontier 1 (you can clear the game with each character in 8-10 hours if you plan ahead and know the money exploit), RS1 remake on PS2, RS2, and then Scarlet Grace (same platforms as RS2 and 3).

Kinda, there are several ways to get high rarity characters
1) Gacha
2) Open recruitment (you spend a permit, use some tags and get a character)
3) Certificate shop, you get certs every time a new operator joins your team so you use both of the methods above to gain those and then can buy one of the high rarity characters that's currently on the banner
You get good amount of characters as you play due to various pity systems but rolls themselves are scarce so getting specific/new unit without saving up a lot or spending money is impossible

It's not really that grindy. All content is permanent with zero PVP content or stamina content so you can grind or play the game at your own pace without fear of "falling behind" other players because it's literally just a JRPG with gahca.

As for rerolls, every new acc after march 31st should start with 20 rolls (As opposed to 10 right now) which would make rerolling WAY easier.

Save for a banner you want. Like for example, the only banner up that is worth rolling is the Hisumena/Mariel gacha.

A healer would be good and if you want to just roll, the Hisumena banner is a solid one because both Hisumena and Mariel are great characters.
Both versions of Mariel in this banner are great (AS Means you get to unlock her 5* with a little farming and OG means she's ready to be used right out of the box unless you pulled her at 4.5 which is still fine.

After the AS Shanie banner (the update we're currently on) comes the zone banners with AS Yuna and AS Claud. AS Yuna brings water zone which would compliment your mighty really well while AS Claude brings wind zone but AS versions are harder to pull than OG versions so keep that in mind.

Not a lot of high priority banners to roll on after this except maybe the Tsubame/Shigure/Tsukiha one if you wanted to pick up one of them until the Myunfa banner.

Yes, Mariel is still worth using. Even at 4* she's still one of the best healers in the game for straight up healing and defence. Keep playing until you're past chapter 13 then grab Joker and Morgana to replace your Rufus and Krervo. Joker will be your instagib machine so you can start farming H/VH dungeons for your Mariel, Anabel and Renri tomes.

It's a linear progression, normal A > normal B > hard A > hard B.
The new arena has one route that goes through 4 maps. I am going through 3rd map and the mobs have stat similar to hard A mobs, so I guess the 4th map will be equal to hard B route.

I did that back in the Soccer Spirits days to reroll for a legendary besides the freebie one. Then my old account managed to get a second legendary too. Then I ended up quitting both accounts not long after, anyway.

More recently, I also did that for Alice Gear Aigis to get Battle Girl collab characters. Mostly Sadone, but the new account managed to get the whole set.

Also ditched my old account to reroll for something in some DMM kusoge. Came out better on the new one all around, I think. Never went back to the old accounts for this or AGA.

In general, my view on it is that it's never inherently too late to reroll. It does gets harder and harder for any new thing to be worth it as you get more progress on the old account, to the point that in some cases it might be pretty much impossible.

But that's a call to be made based on how much you want the new thing vs how much you want your old stuff, and how likely you'll have chances to get them later on. Not just a flat "can't do it, too far in."

And keep login data to your old account in case you have second thoughts, if you do it.
