The Endless Stage Path
So, anyone else found this? Is it really endless or is there a way to beat it?

Hmm... an obsession with chocolate and acting... Let's interpret a game the author doesn't want us to interpret!

I though the one with the guy's shadow would do something, but no.
It the death room like in the original game.
I got there by killing some things at the theater, dunno why.

Oh boy! I loved this threads when it was Yume Nikki 1!

I'll start. The chocolate symbolizes the fecal matter she was forced to eat when her abusive stepfather would lock her alone in his cellar for days at a time.

The other symbols mean she was raped or had an abortion or something.

It's not acting or chocolate, it's about duality and morality. The light and dark chocolate symbolizes looking at things in black and white. Notice how even when the light and dark chocolate starts to merge, they never actually combine. They're still quite seperate from each other. The acting stages represents her morality.

Being young, she hasn't fully developed a strong sense of ethics and morals. Different ethical viewpoints act as a spotlight that shines down on an object, the more one has the more they can illuminate the whole thing. Notice how the lights come down from exactly one angle, creating one spotlight. The person that passes by the light is still completely covered in darkness.

What does this mean in conjunction with the rest of the game? It means she most likely has a very limited or bad view of previous incidents. The heavy use of traffic, similar to the original game, and the hospital, both connected to disturbing events/areas in the game, seems to imply something very bad happened happened to her. Combined with her narrow views, she is probably wracked by these events as she sees them in only one way which has a detrimental effect on her. More importantly, she is unable to progress and move on, which causes her anguish and is probably why she refuses to go outside.

And here we...go.

I love these threads because they make YN that much more scarier. When meanings such as these are applied to the symbols, it's even more disturbing.

It's important to analyze what they look like and the action that happens. For now, let's throw out the term "cultist" and go only by what happens in the game. These creatures are sort of milling about in a routine manner. They are the purple creatures composed of hands/legs a tail and a face, banana-shaped creatures, and a sideways mouth with teeth. Urotsuki enters a building and sees an object that shows a hand, leg, mouth, and adistorted face, I assume that's what it is, all wrapped up. She walks out and is surrounded by the purple things until one rushes out from behind the building. She blacks out and wakes up in the building, walks out, and everything seems normal except the purple things show a hideously distorted face every once in awhile.

I hate to fall back on the gang rape scenario, since I think it's a tad cliche, but one possible theory that is implied is this may have happened. She might have mental scarring where she sees a monster behind regular people just as the creatures change faces when you leave the room again, which would also be a reason why she refuses to leave her room. Notice how it's also a graveyard, particularly one where her own grave is at. This might symbolize where she emotionally/mentally became dead.

Has anyone noticed the flowers on the patches of ground in the endless stage? They mean something.

Remember, she got to this place by KILLING.

It's a graveyard.

Also keep in mind the sheer amount of grave-like object through out the game, there are many. My theory is that somehow, she killed someone. Which would explain the mental hospital as well.

You have to kill those guys in the theater to get here, or at least that's how I got there. And yes, it's an assumption that it's a mental hospital, but it would fit. It could also be that the victim was hospitalized before they died, and that represents the hospital, but I stick by my theory that she somehow inadvertently or intentionally killed someone.
