Miku remixes sound like shit. Seriously. Do people just like them because it's a cute gimmick?

Pretty much. I don't think anyone would care about the software if not for the mascot.

I dunno, I've heard quite a few good songs out of Miku (and other vocaloids).

Packaged, Light Song, Be My Sacrifice, God Slaying Machine, Binary Star. . .

As far as j-pop goes, Vocaloids in general can be quite good. The future is bleak to idolfags and I'll smirk when the time comes.

It's like how everyone loves Morning Musume. A bunch of cute girls singing. Never mind the fact that their songs sound like bubblegum pop shit.

>> No.2296453

>>2296414
That's an awful analogy. If you're going to compare facets of mediums, you should compare ones that are similar in their respective contexts. In comparing music to books, you would be better off comparing it to the plot, characters, and pacing altogether (or whatever the most important parts of a novel are, I can't claim to have studied literary theory).

You still have a little work to do there. Yes, the lyrics are in Japanese. Now, why should anybody care? You could change the lyrics to English or Hebrew or Corean or Klingon and the melody would be the same (not to mention the harmonies/supporting instruments/percussion/composition/production/texture/etc, i.e. all the other things that matter).

In other words, your assumption that the lyrics are the most important part of a song is not shared.

hey guys, recommend me some vocaloid trance music?
