What do your parents make of your /jp/ hobbies?

I've noticed my father tries to maintain a straight face whenever he walks into my room and I'm watching anime/playing a VN (obviously a non-ero scene or I'd have minimized it) and so on. But he's one of those people who is really bad at trying to keep a straight face so he just starts breaking into poorly disguised laughter when he talks.

Asides from that he shows cursory interest sometimes.

I have to side with Athens on this one, fact is most houses don't have doors with locks aside from the front and back entries into the house as a whole and the bathroom(s). Unless you rent a place and live with random roommates and install your own locks, chances are there wont be any.

Most bedrooms, halls, etc, do not have locks in a typical house.

>> No.2290204

My father saw me playing Touhou once and now wants to get into it. His method of getting "into it" is blaring IOSYS loud enough that I can hear it in the garage (he's deaf in one ear) and pissing off everyone else in the house with that shit. I have no clue how to fix this problem.

The rest of my family doesn't care, except for when the above happens.

California, actually.

And all the houses I've been in have
-Locks on entry into the house
-Locks on bathrooms

Never seen, aside from a few places that college roomies would rent to live off-campus, a normal house with locks for bedrooms. Then again I'm not poor and live in a real house where we don't need locks all over for no reason at all, so hey what would I know.

If you're the same person, try reading what I am saying again.

The house itself - all entries INTO and OUT (same fucking doors) of the house as a whole have locks, and all bathrooms.

I'm talking about doors within the house, say the door to your bedroom or closet - one's that not only are already within a locked house, but would just be stupid to put a lock on if you live by yourself, with family, or with a spouse.

I hide anything that looks in any way moe from my family, or anything that would make a normal person think I'm watching "girl cartoons". I doubt they'd care that much, but I feel much more comfortable when there's no hint of the true nature of my hobbies.

For the stuff with a more "mature" style that I consider in the safe-zone, they don't care at all. Like watching Italian western movies or Indian dramas, it's just a niche hobby that they don't see as unhealthy at all. In fact, I showed my onee-chan Death Note and the Cowboy Bebop movie, and she liked both.
