What's the best way to display the bigger fumos? I'm interested in getting one but I need to figure out where to put it. Most I've seen is getting them their own chairs which seems a bit unpractical.

Tokyo anon here. Checked the Amiami and Akiba Hobby stores in Akihabara again. (They were the fourth floor of and building and another lower one.) I saw no touhou fumos. Lots of other plushes though.

My friend told me Ikebukuro has them for sure though. I dont want to keep making useless trips to Akihabara when I'm only here for a limited time. Could I get a bit of direction or clarification?

I used a fabric called minky! Its VERY soft and fluffy to the touch, id definitely choose that over regular fumo hair or something similar like felt.

practice making clothing using measurements you take from fumos
you do not need to use a fumo for anything other than measurements for making clothing
however for actually deconstructing the fumo, you do have to take apart the clothing and hair, and that is a process that is effectively irreversible. however, said process is fairly easy to do, as its basically just bisecting the clothing and giving the fumo a haircut, and aside from that, there isnt much you could do to actually mess up the fumo to the point of no return. as ill fitting or bad clothing can just be redone at any point

I'd recommend starting on the clothes first, that way if you're unhappy you can just try again. I think it's also best to leave the hair til last (or at least til you're more confident), because it tends to an awkward shape to sew. (and also just hard to find the right material, as you can see here)

Photography is all about the lighting. Take photos during the golden hour, with the sun behind you.

Also don't put the subject (e.g. the fumo) in the exact center because that looks boring. You want it off-center.

If you don't want your neighbors to see you, go some distance from your home so anyone who sees you is a stranger. Or go into nature where you are unlikely to run into anyone at all.

It is a british thing to do to put milk in black tea. Though you can also put boba in the black tea with milk to make bubble tea too. There are lots of options with tea! I can understand if it tastes weird to you, though. I think plain old tea without milk is the most orthodox and easy to enjoy.

milk in tea is a british/indian thing. indian black teas, like assam, darjeeling, etc, are bitter as hell. milk and sugar balance it out and make it nice.

Sure, it's actually my second attempt (left). I love my original custom, but I made a lot of mistakes like leaving frayed ends on pretty much every piece of fabric, and using the wrong material for her hair.

As a side thing, I had no idea different releases of fumo were so different. The Patchy I first used as a base is much taller than the Aya I'm using now, and the former is also less top-heavy. Anyone else noticed this?

Ahh, you're the custom Kanako anon! Both of your Kanakos are very cute! Though yes, I can see bits of frayed parts here and there on the right Kanako such as the rope, on the sleeves etc. But she is still a very good custom, and you should be proud of her! I wish you good luck on your second Kanako. And also, my Okuu (Aya base) is very top heavy compared to my Iku, and she looks like she is slouching a little. Iku however, is standing tall like your Patchy. I really didn't notice until now.

To have it compile as if it was an interpreted language. The problem with pure bash code is it has a lot of overhead and can not run faster than what the shell was designed for. With this auto compiling with GCC performance optimizations, you have a lighter weight program running in the background that saves you process time and uses less memory than traditional bash script.

instead of bash command + .c file it's just one file
and it replaced an earlier stats.sh that was written in bash but used more CPU

it runs in a terminal:
