I don't think I announced this outside of one of the server runs, but the server will also be up for Christmas Eve as well, possibly some time in the evening. It'll be a movie night mostly like with Halloween, but I also have a few other fun things prepared for us to do too.

For the anons that were asking how to play, all that you need is:

1-A copy of GTA SA (if you don't have it already, installer here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7a4BIMJ5XcZUWllQTNUendtMk0/view))
2-Install MTA (installer here https://mtasa.com/download/))
3-Install the /jp/ mod pack in your MTA root directory (a MEGA link that will be posted in the active thread right before the server it's online)
4-Join the server when it's online in the weekend using the IP and password posted by the host

Since there are some mods that replace san andreas characters for touhou ones. Which touhou characters do you guys think would do well at replacing some SA characters in the story?

Thanks! I guess you could say that. Initially, after some planning, I was looking for skin rigging guides, and stumbled upon one of the previous Touhou GTA threads, which left me pleasantly surprised how people here get together and enjoy good old SA. Thank you all for your dedication.

Choosing story characters can be hard, as you have to note and consider lots of possibilities, even if you already have some ideas in your mind.

Yuyuko being Big Smoke is funny because of the famous drive-thru scene, but having Yukari chasing a train in Wrong Side of the Tracks and being one of the manipulators with connections to Reimu and Marisa (Kendl and Sweet) is a delicate alternate choice. Add to that the whole arc with Prismrivers (Ken, Maccer and Paul) stuck at Yuyuko's (Salvatore's) casino, where Youmu (Maria) brings her a sandwich and Ran & Chen act as bodyguards, which made me stick with it.
Yukari as Toreno could work, but the desert area has this Area 51/UFO theme going with it, so Nue is also a good fit. Plus, I wanted desert & LV to have this Hell/Makai/Pandemonium with bits of Koumakan/Hakugyokurou feel to it, so having both Byakuren and Nue with UFOs came out perfect, in my opinion.

Also, yeah, that's a coincidence. I had that nickname way before /jp/ was even a thing. lol

According to the guy working on it it's supposed to be really well optimized. Mainly I just think it's a really cool addition even if we wind up not getting much use out of it. The MTA contributors and devs care a lot about the continued support and development of it, and that helps us out a lot too.

Coloring the outline comes with an unfortunate side effect of it being affected by lighting, so to compensate, I made it thicker so it's easier to notice. Also, the weights on the legs were a little messed up, and so is the outline as a result. You just have to live with it, I am powerless here.

1. Download Zandronum, it's the source port we'll use. A source port is kind of a port of the doom engine to modern machines, that also modernize the engine itself. The important part is it makes multiplayer very easy. Please get the full installer as it comes with Doomseeker, a server browser that is highly recommended we use.

2. Download the WADs (Wheres All the Data). doom2.wad contains all the base data that almost every mod is built off of (download includes other iwads too). joi_lstcv15 is the wad we'll be playing. TouhouSkins_v2 is the skins wad to play as 2hus. Links seperated in case you already have most of this.

3. Install Zandronum, then drop both doom2.wad and joi_lstcv15.wad wherever you installed it to. Make sure they're in the same folder as zandronum.exe.
4. Start zandronum.exe by itself so you can begin the first time set up. Make sure doom2.wad is selected as the base wad. I'm not sure if hardware mode is required (it is for some mods) but make sure it's selected just in case. Make sure to customize all the settings, such as controls, mouse options, player setup (like your name), display options, and video mode (resolution).
5. Navigate to the Doomseeker folder and run doomseeker.exe or the shortcut. A server browser should open. I don't remember if you have to configure this but I'll go through it just in case. Go to Options>Configure and under Games>Zandronum, make sure the path to executable is pointed at your zandronum.exe. Ensure file paths is pointed at the same folder as the one zandronum.exe is in. You may want to make an additional folder called WADs somewhere close. Lastly, you don't have to but it's recommended if you ever plan on ever downloading WADs from servers, but set the download location to the WADs folder you made, under Wadseeker>General, otherwise the default is appdata. I know this part seems like a lot but once you configure it you never have to touch it again.
6. If you don't have it, make a folder in the same directory as zandronum.exe and call it just "skins". place TouhouSkins_v2.pk3 in here. You'll be able to pick the 2hu you want to play as from player options.

If you have any trouble setting it up please make a post asking for help and I'll try to help anyway I can.
The server will be up in about half an hour to give new people time to set it up

For sure I can add the trucks in, just for you dude. I had actually wanted to put in some dekotora too but the filesizes are a bit obscene. The map would need to be worked on a bit to be compatible with MTA too, but it's doable. I should mention that I do have some small concerns about adding too much to the overworld map, I'm not really sure how they'll affect performance past a certain point.

Was that Kogasa truck uploaded anywhere as well? I don't recall seeing a download link. Also on the subject of models, some anons have mentioned backing up some modders stuff before they died, did anyone get a hold of みるちお's mods? Their blog went down some time ago and I can't get in contact with them.

I couldn't find anything on Ryosuke839's download site or anywhere else i'm afraid. Maybe he had available at one time but seems like there were just paint jobs for the trucks that he made for himself. Someone would probably have to do same here if we wanted use something similar, like how some anons did paintjobs for some the vehicles.

Pardon the delay. For those that were interested, the first test run for Warcraft 3 is currently up.
Game should show up in LAN assuming everything is working.

Wanted to make sure everything was working properly before we started.
One concern that we will have to keep in mind is player limit. It's not like any of the games we've played so far, the more people you get the less maps become available. Right now the absolute upper limit is about 10 players, which would restrict to a dozen or so maps. There's no real solution to this yet so I apologize if it becomes a problem today, but anyone is more than welcome to join.

Thanks to everyone who came to Warcraft today.
It went well, so I think there will be another more official run sometime next week for anyone else that may have been wanting to join.
Currently planning on Friday.

It's because he doesn't just host it anon, he has to take care of everything too. It's not really tiring work, but I think it does wear you out after a while. I do understand your frustration, but I understand how the admin can get frustrated from it too.
