I agree. I liked Joon since day 0 so I was pretty surprised about nips liking Blue Mokou much more.

Shion got paired with Tenshi since day 0 (in her AoCF ending), and Jo'on appeared in CoLA possessing Sumireko, so that you can ship two characters no one cares about.
