The previous thread dying caught me off-guard. Why do people become the most active only after the bump limit?
That said, I know I have said it before, but this month I will for sure finally update the github, while going through probably a year of threads.
That said it will be some day past the 15th, before that it won't be very possible.
As I have said before, I will try add categories in one way or another.

Just a Friday night with nothing better to do here.

Just noticed, it has been under renovations for years now, it used to be covered by a large scaffolding with outer walls and tarps blocking the view.
I have been waiting for it to be complete, nice to finally see what it looks like.

Aomori is beautiful and the people are chill as anything. If you ever get the chance while you're up there go to Asamushi-Onsen and eat at this shop on the seafront. The piles of Tuna they provide are incredible plus it's an incredibly chilled out little resort. (recommend autumn as it's quiet there then.)

Tsugaru culture is also damn interesting!

I have been watching a lot of these types of videos lately, as someone that used to do some urban exploration Japan seems like a country of endless opportunities.
Or i would get arrested and deported after 30 minutes because some obaasan across the street saw a filthy gaijin trespassing.

It seems people out in the countryside are a lot more suspicious of outsiders, but actually less likely to call the police and may just come ask what you are doing and make sure you aren't looting abandoned buildings.
Has to be quite a few abandoned stations out in the countryside, but so far i haven't managed to find much videos of that.

Unfortunately has to be done in several stages that will take around 8 hours to render and then squash down, because it was split into parts of variable length that have to be combined so that they all get the same speed adjustment.

One of the entrances to Nishinomiya Shrine, Hyogo.
With Umemiya Shrine on the right of the gate.

Do people usually have an objective/wish in mind when they go to a shrine or would someone just go there to hang out and enjoy the visuals on a walk?

>> No.22739702

>>22739434
Hard to give a definitive answer, it seems to differ greatly from place to place, in some ways shrine grounds are used almost like parks or communal areas. (while Buddhist temples are usually more strict and may not be open to the public at all)
Even more so in rural areas where it's not unusual to find old people just hanging around chatting and children playing at the local shrine.
At big more commercialized shrine areas in big cities it may be more tourist focused though, including entrance fees and such, which takes away some of the casual nature from it.

It's weird when you start thinking about it like that, but as i get older it starts creeping up in the back of my mind more and more.
I know for a fact about anons that were lost, not from this thread but still people that i have never met but in one way or another our paths crossed through this website and due to circumstances around what was discussed we got to know and recognize each other in threads, and even contacted each other outside of 4chan in various ways.
No doubt countless others like them, just that i never knew them close enough to notice when they were gone.

You can find stuff like that on insecam sometimes, but usually they just disappear after a few days never to be seen again.
Most of the time they are on really shitty connections too unfortunately, so you get maybe one frame every 10 seconds.
I had one with a great view of a bridge over a river with a valley full of rice fields in the background. Watched it for weeks trying to catch a train going by, only to figure out after locating it in google earth that the track was closed for years.
Why there was a camera there i guess i will never know, weird part was the track looked like there was still traffic there, no overgrowth from trees on the side or even weeds between the track.

She used to stay more in-frame before, but not so much now. You would think she knows people here are calling her fat. It is not like she is walking with friends. Actually if you pay attention you can see the girl behind her catching up to her from quite the distance, especially while Debu-chan is on the stairs, and even trying to pass her just before they go outside of the camera's view. This is really just wondering if she is that slow because of her weight, which makes extra sense on stairs, or just walking chill and slowly while the other girl is going fast.

This is pretty cool, for me at least.
IP camera with this view was one of (if not the first) cameras i found way back in the day when i first started searching for cameras using google, must have been 2006-2007 or something.
Of course back then it was a 320x240 image on a 10 second timer refresh, slight improvement there.
Shows the harbor at Utorohigashi on the Shiretoko Peninsula, Hokkaido.

I try to keep it going when i see it's falling below page 9 at least, but i don't really want to keep bumping it too much if i don't have anything relevant to post either.

whoever makes the threads (you?) probably likes not having to make new ones all the time to counter the catalog trash.

Nope, not so far at least, still a few people around interested in keeping it alive it seems.
And yes, some days are worse than others with the thread spam, i remember one time bumping it from page 10 three times in a day.

main reason my contributions temporarily stopped is I can't figure out how to work within the 3MB limit while keeping quality.
I'm using two different versions of webm for retards because a gui wrapper is good for people who don't know their way around ffmpeg.

Yet I go onto /wsg/ sometimes and see a 1 minute video in 720p and it's only 4Mb. What gives.

I honestly have no idea, i have just about given up on anything over 640x480, and even that's a stretch at getting 1 minute most of the time.
There is probably ways of pushing the limits with manual parameters but it seems way too much effort just to get another few seconds here and there.

It's worth spending a little be of time figuring out ffmpeg as it lets you really fine tune the settings. Webm for retards just doesn't give you the control needed to do what you're probably trying to do.

I know it's probably something worth learning, I just got really intimidated by all the parameters and lengthy explanations of what they do.
I don't want to call myself tech inept, but I'm specialized into some things and certain others are just way out of my grasp. Like if you asked a high grade sysadmin about some advanced techniques in a DAW, he'd be stumped despite working on computers his whole day.

I just use an old (by now) web converter made by an anon. It definitely has flaws, but it does the job. I don't get too fixated on the quality. With 3mb you can't do too much anyway. You don't need that good of quality anyway, except if you are trying to catch the snowflakes falling. Then just make a short loop. For high quality scenery you just have to go with a picture anyway. Most stream's quality is not that high anyway.
Of course, trying to do as good as you can should be praised, but I am just saying there is no need to overthink it if it is not achievable.
I just got an idea. You know we can actually make webms for /wsg/ and post link from here to there. It has 6mb and 300 seconds for limits. Plus we can always just upload somewhere outside of the site and link to it too, it might feel unfortunate, but also why not.

Now this is different. And then I realized the channel had many others like this one.

imgur and youtube are a better option than nothing at all, imho.
