Monster Girl VN/Monster Farmer dev, here. Figured I’d combine my two update posts into one.

VN is going well. Did the basic structure of Yaya’s route, now I just have to go back and edit, and add choices and alternate scenes. Building up the GUI of the engine, as well, but that’s sort of a low priority. That’ll be one of the last things I do.

I can’t remember if I stated this in the other thread, but I’ve decided I’m just going to do Yaya’s route and release it, then produce an updated game with each route (the others will lead to dead ends until their respective route is finished.) If you want you can just wait till the 3rd release is done and binge all the routes, or just play them as they come out.

Monster Farmer 2 is going really well. I’ve decided I’ll program this in GBStudio, then move the third game (which I’d like to take place in an arctic setting) to Game Maker Studio 2 so there’s more flexibility and polish. It’ll have the same 16-bit aesthetic, though.

Things you can expect in Monster Farmer 2:

It'll be closer to GBA. GBStudio is very limited, particularly in audio, which is why there's no music or sounds in MF1 and why the audio is going to be limited in MF2.

There won't be any audio issues in MF3, which I plan to build in GMS2. It'll have a very different color palette, since I plan to set it in a Winter landscape.

It's kind of hard to explain the differences, from a design perspective, but recall how different Pokemon Gold/Silver was from Ruby/Sapphire. That's the visual difference you can expect. The top-down aspect will be the same.
