Okay, I know we already had this conversation and I don't want to seem like a shitposter, but now I'm completely lost on what the fuck kinda of aesthetic Masada and G are going for.
We have classic fantasy knights, Death Stars, space pirate cowboys and now freaking middle east/india desgins...in a supposed techno-magic setting. I'm really confused.

To be fair Kaikhosru is the first person from the side of evil that we've seen, I'd imagine their designs would be far more different than the Ashawan and different amongst each other as well. We've seen forge daddy but we haven't seen his human/personification form.
From the previous translations we've gotten Kaikhosru is tyrant and his design sure as hell looks like one and i for one think it's pretty fucking cool

I don't know man. Ber'iah's are literally small scale emanations which completely bend reality, seems really hard to compete against. Though we haven't seen too many Commandments or Star Spirit's blessings, but Snek's magic shit seems to be way more bullshity.

I'd say the Briah wins out when there's a contradictory effect (ie even "immortal as long as he never dodges" dude wouldn't be able to tank an proper punch from Machina.)
Commandments probably have a wider range of effects/more powerful effects due to there being a drawback though.

The difference here is we don't hear some kind of magic invincibility of why these they aren't getting killed by application of massive firepower of a mundane army unlike the LDO. There's no need to, because the the Yazata and the Daeva -are- the army with the massive firepower of their sides.

A little summary by Cosmic Eagle.

Chapter takes place at the Star of the Dragon Carcass, Zahak. It's a massive desert wasteland. The world largely consists of four sprawling continents seperated by a sea that wove its way between them. Viewed from space, Zahak resembled little more than a mud ball. It would have been hard to believe that just 200 years prior, this was a verdant, green world.

What happened there was similar to the story of the goose that lays golden eggs. Being only able to lay one golden egg a day, the goose was killed by a greedy and foolish man to see if more eggs were inside.

The Star Spirit that was the source of the planet's blessings had been murdered and devoured by a man who wanted to monopolize the world's wealth and power. In other words, he had killed and taken the Star Spirit's place and in the process, plunged the entire world into utter desolation.

The man who did this, is Kaikhosru

Kaikhosru's behaviour would be suicidal for any natural born Star Spirit since it is essentially killing their own world. However since he is an usurper, Zahak is to him, like a hermit crab's shell. It is all just resources to be expended. Once it's all used up, he'll just move on to subjugate another world. He's closer to a pirate or bandit in that sense. For 200 years, he plundered Zahak into the wasteland that it is today. Zahak itself was once known as the world blessed by a celestial dragon of gold but now it is a world ruined by an evil dragon of greed

Zahak itself is a hellish place. Across the deserts, lizards large enough to swallow horses whole and scorpion like bugs fought and devoured each other while the planet's ability to support life is already exhausted. Raptor flocks circle in the air looking for carrion. The human inhabitants simply wait for death to come and are so overcome by starvation they even clash with these creatures for food. On top of that, even what few crops they had were forfeited as taxes and Kaikhosru does not forgive not paying them. Those who flee the settled areas face death in the desert either by starvation, eatrn by beasts, or killed by the troops of their oppressor. The military, economy and administration of the world are all Draegvant. While there were no Daeva amongst the common soldiery and lower class, the cruelty in their lives would give pause to any Ashavan. Rape, killing of children and stealing food are their daily activities while they are ruled only by hatred of Ashavan and fear of Kaikhosru. The slaughter of those fleeing Kaikhosru are like a rain of blood while the soldiers chant Kaikhosru's name.

However, even as they are cut down, the refugees do not stop walking. Their goal is their final hope of salvation, one of the 18 oases of Zahak, the quartz palace of Arzang. It was located 100 Km away from where the slaughter of the refugees was occuring and it was a clear lake enclosed by a city in concentric rings and at its center, towering over everything else with its multiple tiers brilliantly shining against the water, was the largest city on Zahak. This was Arzang itself. As all goods plundered from the surrounding settlements were gathered at Arzang, all refugees naturally flocked to it. There was after all, no other source of food left.

Unfortunately, Arzang was no better than elsewhere. While outwardly it looked amazing once away from the main avenues, the corpses of the city's inhabitants who had died from starvation were piled like mountains. They were in no better shape than the refugees outside and survivors had to engage in sanitary work, stripping the dead of their clothes and taking them in carts to be dumped outside in order to earn the bare minimum of food to survive. If they were sighted on the way by a government official, they would be executed for the crime of ruining the city's beauty. Even mourning the dead was forbidden. The Ashavan were constantly oppressed by the Draegvant who indulged in feasting and excess.

At the highest point in the city is an open space where a small village could fit nicely. The only thing there is a bath house. What filled it wasn't water but top grade sake. In charge of this place is a girl who appeared to be 17 or 18 years old. Her name is Nadia and she is Kaikhosru's 17th favored concubine. She is the princess of quartz who rules over Arzang. To her, the wine (implied to look suspiciously like the blood harvested from inhabitants of nearby villages) is merely a foot bath and is thus replaced every day. She treasures only the special wine she receives from her lord.

Each of the 18 oases are vitally important to a Star Spirit like Kaikhosru. They are where he leeches the planet's blessings from. Thus the overseeing of each oasis he entrusts to his most beloved concubines. Nadia is ranked 17th meaning she is one of the lower ranked concubines. She is relatively young, having been a Favored Concubine for only 30 years. Not surprisingly, she thinks herself superior to the senior concubines from beauty to evilness and that Kaikhosru would raise her up even more.

But Kaikhosru is late for his visit for some time now. And Nadia had become over confident. As her lust and desire became greatly inflamed in her impatience however, Kaikhosru's voice rings out. Speaking through an avatar in the form of a crystal dragon he condemns her turning her and the entire city into crystal and gems. She had let slip her plans to kill off any of her potential competitors as she had thought a new Concubine had been inducted. And on top of that, she had slaughtered too excessively. The lives of every being on this world are his property and Kaikhosru does not forgive needless squandering of his property especially when he himself has yet to squeeze them dry.

The scene turns to Quinn and co. Everyone is on edge due to Zahak's gloomy atmosphere from being literally a dead and barren world. Ferdows and Samrukh are starting to bicker. This is natural since no Yazata can look at what happened to Zahak and not feel rage. They had managed to find some allies amongst the locals and are now in a cramped caravan

Zurvan is part of the force and everyone is glad they don't have to be in the same horse carriage as him. He literally free loads off everyone else, for example, when teleporting, it is sufficient that one person expends their feather while the rest hold on to them. Generally this is the highest ranking person, Zurvan in this case, so that the rest do not have to waste their feathers as they have less. But Zurvan did not do that and instead kept ordering Quinn to do it (lol) while talking crap like "this is what zako like you all are meant for" (even more lol). They even consider him worse than Magsarion because while Magsarion is a loner, Zurvan is flat out toxic to the team.

As for Magsarion, since he has yet to replenish his feathers, and would join up with them later instead. Nobody's obviously looking forward to that moment.

They discuss their plans for taking down Kaikhosru. They cannot believe that Suirios seriously sent such a small force here with the intention of directly facing Kaikhosru head on and thus something else was up. Turns out, as Zurvan later telepathically briefs Quinn to avoid Kaikhosru eavesdropping since as a Star Spirit, the entire planet is his domain, that neither Magsarion nor Zurvan is the key player here. It is someone who had infiltrated the planet 5 years earlier. Quinn and co were to act as decoys so that the infiltrator isn't detected. This person is Alma, the only survivor left of the Khvarenah battle 20 years ago. Her kill count is comparable to Zurvan's and Magsarion's. While it isn't as high as theirs, she has taken down more class 1 Daeva than anyone else.

The plan was for Alma to become a new concubine of Kaikhosru using her ability to confound Avesta and assassinate him
