Drawr is a Japanese website (similar to Pixiv/Pixiv Sketch) which started back in 2008, on which thousands of artists have uploaded their works. Each drawing comes with a process video.
This will all be deleted and lost in less than a month.

The archive team was contacted but they're having difficulty backing it up :
https://www.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Drawr

For anyone feeling concerned, the current /ic/ thread >>>/ic/4191511# has up to date information about the situation and is only a 2 minutes read.

I used to believe that the internet would always be there, that everything that goes on the internet stays there forever. How foolish. Day after day shit I used to like disappears and entire websites vanish. In the future all that's gonna be left is r*ddit and its sanitized communities, censored social media and kosher news websites.

It matters to me as a drawfag since process videos are difficult to find, but I'm not sure about anons who don't draw. I think it's about fanart which will disappear forever and wasn't uploaded anywhere else

wget -> command line program used to download web pages (more options that you can imagine)
lue -> (shell) scripting language
.sh -> more or less meaningless abreviation of "shell", referring to a scripting language interpreter, that is used to interpret an interpreted computer programming language. However it isn't - fuck this shit.

How large is it?

Lamenting something like this shutting down is kind of weird, since Drawr's basically still a content collecting social media site. Artists still use individual homepages with their art, even if they have twitters they use them to keep links to all their accounts and information on where to buy their works if they put out things. You'll just eventually have to go back to web 1.0 and bookmark all the sites. It's probably for the best.

Plenty of artists just don't repost their stuff. It's more common for an artist to actively delete their art than keep it, especially the kind of stuff you'd see on a site like Drawr.
