Having played the game for a couple of month, I can assure you that it's not. By the time I got a full team going, I can just auto the whole damn thing.

I'm just waiting if they could redeem it after enabling PvP battle duel (I assume the mode that is being locked right now).
Otherwise, it might would just fall down into obscurity like many gacha from popular series, and like most 2hu fangames.

If you can't auto, that just means you need to upgrade your shit.
It's not like GBF for example, where need you to pay attention to the HP trigger just so you don't get Transcendence'd to death. Even that is less skill and more hit as hard as you can.

Maybe if the PvP game isn't too fast and random it'd be more popular.
The gameplay itself might not be that bad, but the win conditions and I guess the mapping let any lucky player regardless of level to win the game only after 3-4 turns while other players unable to intervene, so it's just a waste most of the time. The exception is maybe the Delivery mode (where you have to buy at least two properties then move to the goal panel). Since there are more objectives, the game goes longer and there are more player interactions.
Other than that, any AI modes barely pose any challenge because of the same issue above with even more subpar AI. I guess it only appeals to people who like to grind and collect still-currently small numbers of 2hus.
Maybe they could fix the gameplay in the future, or maybe I should be glad that this mobage doesn't get popular despite the efforts put into voice acting, animation and involvement of various fanartists, I dunno. On the other hand I like some of the music and cute 3D chibis and it definitely still has more gameplay than KanColle.
