There's a possibility ZUN could put Sakuya, Youmu and Reisen as stage 4 bosses, one for each of the playable girls. Reimu, Marisa and Sanae are probably not the first to get there.

UFO's third boss has some direct relation to the story, and some apparent close relation to the final boss. That hasn't happened since EoSD. Does this mean stage four will be in a library and the final boss will be a vampire?

Well, Japanese ZUN has always said that plenty of important males exist in Gensokyo. He just doesn't include them as main characters since they aren't "a part of his story".

tl;dr Japanese ZUN is a game otaku. He knows what he likes and what his audience likes: little girls in silly hats and frilly outfits. It works pretty well too. If only other game designers would follow his proven recipe for success.

UFO has some PC-98esque things about it that none of the new games had.
Right now I can think of:
-On Lunatic, when some enemies die, they shoot out a bullet.
- All the information on the right is in complete Japanese again.
- Marisa's magic stick

I actually wouldn't be too surprized if an appearance from a PC-98 character happened.
