Subs2srs.
Do one anime season from a light novel you liked.
Turn it into a 10,000 card deck.
Set it to audio on the front and text on the back.
First review, suspend any card where you know what is being said.
If you don't know what's being said, but know what the sentence text means, press Easy.
If you don't know what the sentence text means (has a word you don't know), suspend it.
During later reviews, pass all cards but replay audio if you didn't understand without text.

When finished with one episode worth of cards, watch the episode to see how your listening improved.
Consider ripping the audio and playing on loop.

So in your opinion you would say keep reading hiragona katakona and kanji to learn words in japanese? I recent wanted to become trilinqual sorry if i slept that wrong. I wanna learn spanish and japanese so i dan become a translater. I learned hiragona and katakona in about like 14 days i am just about to start kanji in like a week or so i still wanna read a bit more kata and hira so i can get faster of it but aince there are so many kanji i am kind of overwelmed with what i was thinking on japanese. It has always been a dream since i started watching anime to learn japanese to be able to lission without subtitles haha. Dumb reason i know but it was my first reason. Not that i am 22 and havent gone to college i really wanna do something more. So that is how i thought of the idea for becoming a translater. Also to visit japan. Sorry for the extremely long comment. My question is do you know of any good ways to learn kanji cause i really enjoy readin hira and kata and would love to read it and learn that way cause i can learn the words through anime cause i can kind of pick out words already. I just need to get use to the order the words are in. Sorry for the very long comment awesome videos love them

alternatively there might be an audio issue and you can convert it to a supported format like aac. i'm probably using the wrong terms but whatever, you get the gist.

also if the script doesn't work it's because you probably have to download ffmpeg and add it to your PATH or some crazy shit i don't remember but you can google it and easily set that up.

What a pathetic post. Millions of characters is like 2 VNs or a single novel series. Practically nothing. It's not an exaggeration to say you'll need to read about a billion characters in Japanese to approach native level. Even if you just browse twitter you'll see Japanese people using it sometimes because it's just not a big deal. It's not the most common way to write the word, but it's not that uncommon either in that literally any Japanese person will be familiar with it and see it on at least a semi-regular basis.

it's not uncommon to see a completely different word written in furigana than the one written in kanji

sometimes it's to make a pun or a joke of some kind. sometimes an english loan-word will replace the japanese (e.g. 復習 with リベンジ in furigana). in ero stuff, very often they will use incorrect kanji to write a certain words just because it feels more erotic that way (e.g. writing 中 as 膣内, and 中出し as 膣内射精, or in your case writing 出る as 射精る)

Is there any site that lets me search for kanji by radicals in an ergonomic way? All sites I could find require you to scour gigantic lists to select the radicals you want, which is really painful.
The other options for looking up unknown kanji are using an OCR, or drawing it in a handwriting recognizer, both of which are tedious to use (if they even work).
But the thing is, KRADFILE contains all the information needed, it's just the interfaces available online that are cumbersome to use.
Consider the following example: let's say you see 諜, and want to look it up. Even if you only know basic vocabulary, you can easily think of 言 and 葉, which contain the radicals you're looking for. So if you could tell the computer, "show me kanji that contain the radicals present in these two kanji", you'd have an interface for looking up unknown kanji that's not a massive pain to use. (The alternative would be letting you search for radicals by name, but that would require you to use gay arbitrary names for radicals.)
The question is, does something like this exist? If not, I can make one and put it up on neocities. But I want to ask if I'm missing an already existing solution in case I'd be reinventing the wheel.

society basically requires people to have a piece of paper these days and they're groomed into going to uni from like 12-13 years old here. the subjects you choose in high school will basically determine what you study in uni so you already need to know what you want to do by like 14. thankfully student debt is not such a massive issue because we dont have such a fucked up system like the US

also i say this because there's a lot of words that are supposedly common but i keep forgetting them in anki and they turn to leeches because i'm not actually encountering them that often in the particular thing i'm reading.

like beyond the 2000th most common word there are a lot of words that you'll only encounter like once in an entire VN which is crazy to me. the 3000th most frequent word might only show up several times in a VN whereas the 6000th most common word might show up like 500 times. just depends on what you're reading. people have alluded to this phenomenon in this thread before but they never put it into concrete terms so i had no real idea how prevalent or strong of an effect it was. now it makes sense to me why people recommend ditching premade decks like vncore or core2k.

I was watching a Japanese streamer on Twitch and someone gifted me a sub. I sent a measly "ありがとう!^_^" to them, and got this back:
よくわからないので色々教えて下さいね。

I'm trying to decipher what it means.
So far, I got...

よく = "Well...", nicely, carefully, thanks – lots of different meanings on this
わからない = not understand
ので = because of that, so, because
色々 = various, many ways
教えて = tell, teach
下さいね = please

I'm not sure what he's saying. Am I missing some possible definitions for these words that might make this clearer?
