I only paid for a 3 day activation, but I've been watching live TV all day and they haven't tried stealing hundreds of dollars from my paypal yet

Kinda bummed I didn't get the pro package though, thats the one that has all the cool channels like Fuji One and Animax, I didn't know there was more than one Fuji TV though so I just figured I'd get to watch Gamecenter CX tonight on the basic one. Price is pretty fair though, I can't really complain about getting nearly 100 channels for 30 bucks a month when thats about what you pay for the most basic packages in my area

>> No.21636637

>>21636442
30 bucks a month for TV is nuts, especially when they aren't even delivering the real thing.

You can't even turn on subs, because you're watching the same video stream as everyone else. Personally, I'd rather just wait an hour to watch the shows on one of the chink video sites so I can skip through the adbreaks.

Maybe if you're dumb enough to pay for TV in the first place, this seems like a reasonable deal. But I pay 20 bucks a month for 100mb, so the idea of paying 30 bucks a month for 720p streams is just insane to me.

TV is priced for retards in the first place, though. What you're paying for is a far weaker experience that you have to use some dumb app to watch.

I liked FujiTV back when it was free, but I'd certainly never pay a dime for it.

>> No.21636673

>>21636661
I'm only paying for it because I genuinely miss live TV and it will help with my studies a bit being able to have it on all the time.
Obviously just being able to pick a show and play it online whenever is better if you have something in particular you want to watch, but I just want it around for casual viewing while I'm working and shit.

Also how the fuck am I going to get actual Japanese cable installed in my house?
Obviously if a legitimate installation was an option I'd go for that over streaming, but I can't think of any alternatives to IPTV.

Are you sure you just aren't a NEET with no income? Cause 30 bucks a month is really nothing, its weird to me that you're so offended by the service.

yeah, japanese tend to like series and familiar characters. if you know a little about japanese tv you probably know there's this genre called 2-hour suspense represented by programs like tv asahi's 'doyo wide gekijo' (rip) and ntv's 'kayo suspense gekijo' (rip) where it's basically a new TV movie every week. a lot of them are series where you usually get one or two per year with the same main characters but a new case every time, and the most successful of these series have even more installments than tora-san: tv asahi's 'nishimura kyotaro travel mystery' reached 70 this year and has been going since the 80s

this is due to koreans putting importance on smartphones, being able to watch stuff anywhere anytime on their samsung phones esp on trains where people are glued to their screens, walk over to the electronic gates and tap their phones to pay then continue watching which means more people are watching something all the time
in this regard japan is really stuck in the past, they don't have things outside where you can interact with using their smartphones so the only money they make with the ads is people at home watching drama on their TVs

the movie is among the best japanese movies of the 80s and yoshimitsu morita is really a criminally underappreciated director

>i expect nothing from the arashi/exile/SMAP boyband singers who think they can act but this kid is acting full time
kamiki is a full time actor but a lot of these johnny/LDH guys literally have a new drama whenever a new season rolls around, starring them and their lack of talent, and often ruining GOOD source material like 'family game'. (btw, if you can understand japanese, check out the two-part family game drama from the 80s, it reaired on CS maybe a year ago) kamiki might be a mediocre actor but i don't see him starring in shit as much

i don't hate sakurai, i just think it's ludicrous that you think he's the better actor of the two. seems to me like you have a hate boner for kamiki since you're so outraged about him getting roles

I remember that era.
It was so easy for me to get into Korean class, and Japanese had an enormous waitlist.
I ended up being the only guy in the whole class of 50 people, the rest were all Chinese and Japanese girls who wanted to learn Korean.
Honestly I agree that Korean television has diversified a lot more recently, but their music industry has really declined since the second Hallyu wave. 09-11 was kind of the peak, and then they tried to internationalize way too hard. I think it succeeded financially but has really lowered the overall quality. BTS and Blackpink will be the death of K-Pop.
I also kinda miss the cheesy K-dramas back when they were more influenced by Japan. I watched Winter Sonata, Boys over Flowers, Secret Garden, Coffee Prince. That's probably why I tend towards Japanese television these days.
