I think it depends on where you live and what you do for work. I showered a lot more when I was working at a job that required outdoor physical labour than I did when I worked at an office. I also showered more when I'm inhabiting muggy or smoggy cities than I do when I'm in Canada. Once a day is still necessary for me to be presentable though, two is the absolute limit if I'm going to be leaving the house.

When I'm in NEET mode, I only take showers once every 1-2 weeks. If I scratched my scalp, I could scrape off generous amounts of residue into my nails.
