Have you ever spoken to someone learning English as a second language? English has super confusing orthography and terribly inconsistent grammatical structure because it started from Germanic roots then had layers of French/Latin influence grafted on later. Compared with the Romance languages like French or Spanish, English is actually quite difficult to learn well.

As a native Spanish, English is easy as fuck in terms of grammar and specially verb conjugation. Orthography is a mess though, and so is pronunciation.

These threads are about an author, not a series, so you'll have to be more specific.

As for >>21310316, they are tomes about 17th century geopolitics and strategy with skintight suits and mecha.

>> No.21311348

>>21309608
Yes.

It's a pretty long series of novels (both LN and WN) based around a setting created by Minoru Kawakami. The finished (as in TL finished) are Owari no Chronicle and Gekitotsu no Hexennacht.

The first of those two is about a group of negotiators who need to make different parallel worlds to agree for the sake of saving the world, it features a fairly small cast so they get a good chunk of development and sets the bases for the setting in other works, very recommended, but be ready to read a lot.

Hexennacht feels more like a story inspired by Kawakami's works and it's a pseudo-magical girl story written in 4 volumes.

As for the not fully translated works, there's the City Series, which is KWKM's first work and it's a pseudo sci-fi fantasy setting with sort of short stories (1-2 volumes long), haven't read much of it desu but they're nice.

Then there's Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, which is, as >>21310455 said, 17th century geopolitics and strategy in skintight suits and mecha in the futurepast. There is an anime with two seasons which covers volumes 1 and 2 (a total of 4 books).

Currently there's also On a Godless Planet which is a WN that is set between Owari and Horizon and it's about gods and terraforming, we don't know much else because it has barely started.

Those last three are being translated in a somewhat actively manner by js06 when he's not translating Kamachi novels.

>> No.21312208

>>21311348

Volume 3 is the perfect ending point for an entire season because it provides something completely different from the first 2 volumes and also add the breaking point for the beginning of a new type of developments with the last chapters, if you think is a wrong point to end another season (that of course will never happen) then you should go back to your usual haremshit since that's what low IQ retards like you can read.

>Shinjou detected a slight tremor in Sayama’s voice.

>“So my father was waiting here.”

>He slowly but surely spoke the words with his right hand on his chest.

>“Waiting for someone to arrive at the lies two worlds made while thinking of each other.”

>He picked up the case and Shinjou supported him because he seemed on the verge of collapse.

>“It’s okay, Sayama-kun. You can ache.”

>She was only looking to Sayama, but everyone heard her words.

>“You know what? I don’t think the pain in your chest is the guilt you feel for not dying with your mom.”

>She pressed her ear against his chest.

>“I think it means you’re sad.”

>“You mean…?”

>“Yes. You don’t let your feelings show much, you can be stupid, you can be dangerous, you’re honestly a lot of trouble, you’re beyond saving, and I think saving you would just bring you back to a previous kind of crazy, but…”

>“I can see you have been observing me very closely.”

>“The most amazing part is that you don’t deny any of that. …But you know what? Despite all those things…”

>She let out a breath that may have been a bitter laugh.

>“But you feel sadness more than anyone else. >You feel so much sadness that it hurts.”

So his father was there waiting all those years trying to save the world, man that's so sad.

Use spoilers because they're spoilers. You could have referenced the event without quoting an entire page worth of text.
I have a fairly good idea of what is coming in the rest of the series but so far we have managed to avoid people dropping entire pages into this thread.
And certainly not to just make a one sentence comment afterward.

Despite how old the translations are, we still occasionally get people coming through here asking where to start in the Kawakamiverse. It's only reasonable to keep outright spoilers to a minimum for the enjoyment of newcomers.

It's clear from the quoted text that it was unnecessary for your post. One line of that quote probably would have been more than enough to give context for those who are starting to forget the details. Instead you aimed more for the reply character limit, for what? Fucking nothing.

You're complaining about a quote of an old translation and a very old LN in a light novel therad.
You're complaining about the quote talking about the context WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THE QUOTE.
You're complaining using muh newcomers bullshit when every single newfag that comes her are interested on Horizon and they don't even know what the hell is OnC.

It's clear from the quoted text itself that it's not necessary for you to basically say "wow the story of Sayama's dad is so sad".
We tell every single newfag to read OnC.
It really doesn't matter the age of the LN translation, either you're just reading it now or you're posting it for fuckall reason.

I'm pretty sure I have seen people quote Shinjo's "you can ache" line here before.

>> No.21423417

It is necessary in terms of context, you should stop embarrassing yourself by speaking about something you don't understand because you haven't read that yet. Anyone else get the idea about why that text is related to why Sayama can finally release that sadness.
Telling every single newfag about OnC doesn't mean they're going to understand a random piece of text from something they have no idea what it is, stop with the mental gymnastics.
Of course the release of the translation matters, is like watching a movie and posting spoilers after a week of being released, use your brain once in a while.

Of course you have seen that before because IT LITERALLY HAPPENED MORE THAN 2 YEARS AGO. Imagine creating all this drama because you can't handle your butthurt for a piece of text, absolutely pathetic.

This plays in the same way Horizon, CITY, Hexennacht do, that's basically the destiny of the world.

Lemme be more clear about it, on OnC you have the original world which was destroyed (in this case it should be low-gear because every other world was destroyed), from that timeline Noah was sent to the void which is a place with absolutely nothing, not even time.

Once Noah was sent there, the negative concepts were going rampage and she entered in a state of standby where only a few sensors inside her were working and her consciousness was in sleep mode. The negative concepts in the time span of billions of years managed to create a new world, this world was Low-Gear all over again but also this leads to the creation of the other 10 gears and Top Gear. Basically in this current timeline the same things happened all over again as you said but thanks to the current team leviathan this world was saved which leads to the the new world with all the concepts in it, which of course leads to EDGE era.

What is your favorite KWKM book? Not series, not "volume". Just book. And why?

I saw on Js06's twitter about the regular translations for horizon which is amazing to be quite honest but I have a few questions about the rest.

What's going to happen with A Godless planet and the Short stories after Horizon?
Kamachi is releasing more and more of his sub-par stuff and Js06 is translating everything so I really wanna know is he's going to work on those 2 titles or not.

The particular person that was linked in the original post told me it was a commission. Might be a discount or something. I'd have to get a hold of them and I don't know how now.

Question for our veterans, how do you edit scans?
I looked over my doujin scans again and I'm not happy with the colors on some of them, it looks like they're not saturated enough.
I never had to deal with image editing before so I have no clue.

Try Twrlare, not sure if his commission price's still the same. I heard from waifufags that he does lewds but since waifufags preferred their private, I rarely see them.

>> No.21526282

>>21524834
We don't know because Js06 stopped the translations thanks to Kamachi stuff and now Godless Planet, CITY and Next Box are buried deep down.

All what we have and probably all what we're gonna get for the rest of the year is 1 chapter of Horizon a week, meanwhile every single LN released by Kamachi is getting translated right away. Quite fun being a Kawakami fan right? getting crumbs every single time kamachi release another one of his low quality fanfics.

I played around with gimp for a while and it seems like too much of a pain to do in bulk with 0 experience, but thanks anyway.

>> No.21528252

>>21521633
There's several things you can do, but all in all, scanning colored things is a pain in the ass.
First off, calibrate your monitor properly with a colorimeter and DisplayCAL for example (thanks Ivan). Best is to have an IPS screen.
Next is trying different things while scanning, I usually go with VueScan and set the the settings in the Color tab to neutral and enable the Restore colors filter. Save it twice with and without the restore colors just to be sure in case the other one's actually superior. Note: Make sure you crop the scan area while the restore colors filter is enabled since it's calculating that from all visible areas.
Now, Photoshop has a nice option called neutralize: Image -> Adjustments -> Match Color -> Check Neutralize -> OK. Best do this on a duplicate layer and compare with the original to see which is superior.
Afterward it's just saturation and hue by eye. The other anon already linked you something. Important note: Wwitch from master to the different colors and play with that as well. Don't overdo it since it can mess things up (you should notice this easily though so that shouldn't be much of an issue).

Anyway, in my experience, hitting the colors properly is quite hard and I was most likely never spot-on.
