I 1cc'd MoF on normal on my first go, but have only once gotten past Parsee on easy. I like to think that it's the background and the lack of penetrating laser that do me in, since nothing else really seems to explain it.

I don't know what it is about SA, but I am absolutely terrible at it. It may be that you have to rely on memory instead of reaction. I managed to beat Flandre on my first try, but cannot defeat Satori on practice mode as anyone.

SA is probably the closest to a decent plot, but the rest no.

SA's plot being that there are violent eruption of soul geysers on the surface, leading Reimu/Marisa to be investigating the underground at the implications of one of the 6 Youkai allies.
They investigate and find their way to the (Former) Hell of Burning Fires, where Orin has been sending the fumes to the surface as a warning for Okuu's preparations of all-out war on Gensokyo.

I'm still searching for the reason I'm doing so poorly at SA, which is why I brought it up again. I was rather hoping someone far more skilled at Touhou than I would be able to shed some light on this, but it seems in vain. I 1cced MoF Normal within my first hour, and got to Orin on SA Normal within my first hour. But I haven't played them much further than that because I'm working on my PCB Lunatic score.

I do not enjoy endurance spellcards, and I certainly do not enjoy a test of patience and practice for something so useless. If I must continually practice to be able to play a game, I'm not one to keep at it, save for the rare occasion there's additional motivation beyond simple enjoyment.

I prefer not to play Touhou as though it were Guitar Fucking Hero. If I have to go grind in practice to learn a card, I'll just go play any of thirty other games I have lined up.

If you hate a card so much just preemptively bomb it. Your skills will improve as you play other cards, and eventually you'll try again without bombing and find you can capture it. This happened to me with Hell God Sword "God's Flashing Slash as Karma Gust", which I long considered impossible.

I know you'll have to hear it because you called it out, but it's just a memorization issue. And take some time to figure out what shit is aimed at you. Take it easy, start to the side and stream the beginning. For her first noncard you don't have to sit so close to the middle, there are larger openings to the side. Plenty of room to lead the trail of bullets for the midboss card. Pick a side for the enemies that come after here and dodge up and down since you'll be taking out one side, or just slowly trap across the screen.

For her second card you can lead the aimed shots in a circle, or utilize your border hax. And it looks like there's already a help run so do what this guy did.
