Should I keep the OG Mirror Moon patch? I really want to read FSN 2004 without changes from Realta Nua. The thing is that the patches besides the Mirror Moon translation cut out some of the original lines from 2004 except the recent "Ultimate Edition" patch but that one is extremely bugged and pretty much an alpha.

Speaking of it, I finally decided to watch it and I have to say so far I'm pretty disappointed in the adaptation.
People were bitching about UBW for the lack of Shiro's monologues but that was a good adaptation that even added some good stuff that expanded the narrative.
HF trilogy has to fit the entire route in about 6 hours and the limits are obvious.
It doesn't help that the director saw these as Sakura-centered movies wasting some of the already poor screentime. I'm not necessarily a Sakura hater, but I don't find her the most interesting character in HF. A lot of Ilya and Kirei were cut, the entire Shirou's operation, they could've have shown how different Saber Alter's ideology was in comparison to the original one (and instead she got one line in the entire movie and her fight vs Archer replaced by Assassin).
There's still one movie and they can recover some characterization there during some of the most epic scenes of the VN but I'm not expecting too much.
The directing was much better than the first movie, though, and the dialogues are less heavy.
Visuals are top notch as always but I don't think they put more effort than Presage Flower, really don't understand why they delayed this when there's only one major battle.

tl;dr this is a trilogy about Sakura. Cool, but I was expecting more

To be fair, anime and visual novel are different mediums with each of them having their own strengths and wesknesses. And having the anime adaption be in first person is difficult to do given the medium. I think the movies did not portray Shirou very well, but they saved face by using facial expressions. One gripe I have with presage flower is that in the anime adaption they just have Shirou idiotically intercepting Berserkers swing on to Saber. What's with that?

The HF manga is doing a really good job at adapting the VN, adding some great scenes specially to Shinji but all the cast have their little plus like seeing shirou crying when he was young because of his memories of the fire, kotomine aswell being personnal way faster than in the vn. The author is really talented all around.

Honestly, it makes me really happy to see FGOfags get sad and angry about their lack of content. They deserve to be treated badly, for being invested in a game that's known to be scummy and lazy, and for caring about its shitty story.

Unfortunately, wether FGO ends sooner or later will not influence how soon soon we get the Remake or Mahoyo 2 at this point. Nasu probably already knew Lostbelt would be stretched out, so unless there's a part 3 of FGO suddenly announced, it doesn't really matter one way or the other. I doubt FGO can do any more damage or halt those projects any more than it already has. We either get news for the 20th anniversary, or we don't.

It's been promised since forever. In particular, one of the girls in the original VN never got a route, and they announced way back in 2001 that we'd eventually get that route, "somehow".
Moreover, Tsukihime is pretty outdated when it comes to visuals and music. It's impossible to play Mahoyo and not want at least an update of Tsukihime with that level of technical mastery.

And to add on top of all that, the last few years have been utterly dominated by Fate (which keeps getting progressively worse). Tsukihime Remake would be a breath of fresh air, as the first major non-Fate project by Nasu since 2012. For lorefags, there's also the appeal of new lore that Nasu might introduce in the Remake that's only really relevant to the Tsukihime side of things and not Fate, there's at least one new character confirmed, new scenes, etc...

It's weird and left kind of unclear. I think she put the soul into some kind of underwater plant thing, but the pendant was what allowed Rin to find it in the middle of the lake. It really should just be the pendant for the sake of simplicity in my opinion.

So I've been playing Fate extra again and I'm remembering what I initially loved about Nero. While still arrogant, yes she had more pride and an edge to her that's gone these days. She didn't instantly jump on Hakuno's dick either, while loyal to them from the start she acted a little unintentionally patronizing towards them until she got to know them better. It almost feels like a completely different character from the Nero of today. It feels like the Nero I love and the Nero FGOfags love are two different characters. I dare say that if somebody who just got into fate and went back to play extra chose Nero, they'd feel she's out of character.

If I had to explain it, 1 has a very distinctive "flavor", 5 is a far longer and more complex story so it jumps around a lot in mood and tone, which is why it doesn't feel as strong as 1's constantly sullen, contemplative atmosphere. I say this even though 5 is my favorite.
And I love both instances of "singing in the rain" to death, but you can't compare small scenes that were already in the novels to 1's masterful use of original brand new tracks, and their fantastic sound mixing throughout a whole hour long film.
