It'd be very difficult thanks to the mana erosion mamono mana causes. Basically whenever it interacts with other types of mana, especially in romantic situations, it converts the energy it touches into even more mamono mana (and in fact the reaction results in more total energy than initially existed, breaking the normal laws of physics).

If you wanted to block it somehow, you'd need to keep your mana from interacting with hers. Not an easy thing to do with magic, since mana fuels magic. Maybe some technology could do it, but good luck figuring out what.

To an extent monsters can control when they drain someone and how much. They just have such big appetites that in the former age it'd be hard to not overdo it (plus most monsters didn't care if they killed the man).

But now that loving mana drains create more energy, the monster can continuously return enough mana to keep the man going. That is, she can use her own mana that she is converting his mana into as a sort of life support system. Mamono mana also spurs a man's body to produce more mana of his own more quickly.
