You'll like IkaBey as much as you liked Dies Irae. The story is in the same vain as Dies Irae - a seemingly generic story that's fun to read because of the particulars. This time it's Wilhelm who is getting cucked. It's not a spoiler since everyone involved including Wilhelm himself knows it's going to happen. I don't want to say more about the story to avoid actual spoilers, but the writing's just as good. The voice acting is excellent thanks to Wilhelm's Seiyuu and Claudia's seiyuu is fantastic as well, though maybe it's my personal preferences speaking. The art is definitely better. It's a really fun side-story and you should definitely give it a go if you loved D.I. The only downside is that it's fairly weak on the bishoujo side of things so if for some reason you were reading Dies Irae for the galge bits you'll be sorely disappointed if you don't like Claudia.

Is it just me or does the Sonenkind thing feel incredibly contrived? Isaac is essentially a middle manager for Reinhard's spooky castle. I never quite understood the rationale for that role considering that it existed before Isaac (as seen in IkaBey) and that none of the other gods need a helping hand. I can't think of any reason other than giving Rea a way to be related to the LDO while remaining the "meek girl with inner strength" type of character. At least he looks cool.

It's untranslateable not because it's difficult to understand, but because english is a very fucking limited language and there'd be tons of shit lost in translation no matter how hard you try, and anyone working on a translation out of nothing but love for the game would likely quit from frustration. KKK isn't even set in modern day, which opens up tons of questions about how you approach a translation already.

when concerns were brought up to steiner, who no doubt would have been the translator, his response was:

The Ewigkeit is Snek's system so what other gods did don't nessecarily apply, and that's all made -after- Dies anyway. Even if elements of Ewigkeit can be applied to Shinza godhood in general. One could even say that Snek might have reverse-engineered Ewigkeit out of his own godhood, hence the soul collection(emulation of Hadou godhood).

Anyway, just because the Zonnenkind wasn't needed during Ikabey, doesn't mean it's won't be needed at all. After all, the big turning point and the first Swastika ritual was at the Battle of Berlin.

What's the purpose of that first part? The original and the anime remix capture the feel of the character very well. It's very quick, almost frenzied. It almost feels like the different instruments are trying to outpace the others. The different sequences (? I don't know the right word to use) shift abruptly and quickly, which reminds me of the way Schrieber's movement is described. It's hectic, but carefully controlled at the same time. So I really don't understand the point of adding an intro sequence with the monks and shit. It's almost half a minute too. This remix is very disappointing. Maybe it's because I like the original so much, but I don't think it adds anything of value to the original, or offers a different take on the character it's dedicated to.
