It takes approximately 18 hours for a thread to reach page 10 and 24 hours for a thread to fall off page 10 (or at least that's what the numbers were about minutes ago; it varies greatly by the time of day). It's not an insignificant difference.

If every general thread was in the habit of building new threads as soon as they hit page 10, those threads would respawn faster, and those pointless respawns would kick threads other farther down, forcing them to also respawn faster or sometimes just die. The end result of all those pointless new threads is shrinking the diversity of threads by somewhere between 10% and 25% depending on whether do your accounting by thread slot or by hours to expiration.

Maybe if there was some sort of compelling reason why there needed to be a new thread people wouldn't complain but in this case there's no reason for it other than to satisfy your ego and have a link that works just as well as >>>/jp/vocaloid does 99% of the time.

Mostly doujin stuff, maybe a concert here or there. Choukaigi was just a few days ago, Koetsuki (Yukari/Akari event) is next week, Each of Voice in fall (collected wholoid/whoroid event), Comiket obviously, VOCALOID PARADISE and its spinoffs, and then various other events for non-Vocaloid series that my life doesn't admit to attending all of. I was never able to find to time to attend anything other than Comiket over the years.

Probably this year I'll skip Comiket and attend Each of Voice just to see what it's like.

I'll do a chunk cuz I've usually been into producers that don't have PVs often and don't get a lot of discussion generally.

ミスミ/Mizumi - lots of different styles songwise, strong v flower and knows how to make Miku sound unique
ぐいあの/Guiano - many fun v flower songs, dabbles with IA too.
羽生まゐご/Mao Hanyu - Ukiyo Meguri is just too good. Traditional Japanese style with mostly v flower and a couple of Miku songs.
Osanzi - top 3 EDM producer for me, lots of different styles. Only thing I can fault him for is not branching out from Miku enough.
Clean Tears/S.C.X - another top 3 for me, probably the most well-known that I've mentioned and certainly producing songs for the longest time. He's improved so much over 10 years and I also really love that he'll remix/remaster his old songs several years later.

I could go on but I'll stop at five. Yeah, I have a thing for v flower.

Is it rhythym games, do you sing a long (like singstar), or is it just songs you buy (or listen to online) like an album? I ask this because i think i have seen game releases but also there are concerts and just youtube videos and everything.
I only really got into anime and japanese media culture stuff like 2 years ago and there is more than enough anime/manga stuff to catch up on, plus figures im interested in. But all the while seeing hatsune miku figures and such not really knowing what was going on.
From different anime openings and seeing regular idol stuff i have taken a bit of a liking to japanese music, so figure finally learning what vocaloid was/is seemed appropriate.
Sorry for the autism life story, but if anyone could help explain what the deal is i would appreciate it.

If you want a good taste of what Vocaloid music is all about. The Project Diva games by SEGA have a really comprehensive soundtrack of the most popular songs.

Future Tone has the most songs, over 200 actually so some are filler but most are famous or widely regarded as some of the best. You can skip around the Future Tone soundtrack with this playlist.

As far as "official" songs go this would be as ""official"" as you can get by getting into a Project Diva game.

There are an immeasurable amount of different Vocaloids. Crypton Future Media (CFM) the company that owns Miku only uses CFM voicebanks in their game so it excludes lots of other company vocaloids and UTAU which are fan-made voicebanks.

The main cast of CFM are Miku, Rin, Len, Kaito, Meiko and Luka. So these will be the voicebanks you'll hear in that playlist. If you are interested after browsing, the rabbit hole is goes much deeper.

Also as another anon suggested you can watch a concert proper to also get a decent selection of classic songs too.

About the concert. Thats actually part of what made me decide to finally find out what this was all about, my local anime festival had a hatsune miku concert (i didn't go, i went to one by luna haruna who does lots of anime openings, but this showed me how fun japanese song concerts could be) and i think its annual so i figured i should see if i like hatsune/vocaloid so i can go next time if i do.

I only really knew a few of the songs from the concert i went to, but all the people up the front that know exactly what to do with the glowsticks and when to chant during the chant-y sections made the whole atmosphere awesome.

I have the Miku VR game and don't recommend it. Gameplay is boring and tracklist is small. Just not worth the price.

The good games are on PSP, Vita, PS3 and PS4 but if you don't have those you can emulate the PSP games -okay- on mobile. There is also an unofficial PC version of Future Tone/Arcade called PDD but you have to add all your own songs which I can imagine would be hard to do if you're brand new to the Vocaloid stuff since you wouldn't know what to add.
