after playing this and playing the Fate path of Fate/ Stay Night... this is wayyy better. No joke.

Unfortunately it's a gem that was lost in the hype of Fate/ Stay Night and all the other mainstream VNs.

Its rated as the the BEST english (translated from japanese of course) visual novel ever released in North America.

Since I literally just finished the game 10 minutes ago I'll give my opinion on it. I think it's good, but not as great as so many people think it is. It gets a lot of hype so I was kind of disappointed by it overall.

haha, i was scared of torrents too when i first saw them. get utorrent and just download the .torrent file in the link. depending on number of seeders vs leachers (more seeders vs leechers is better) it could take a day to a week.

but other than that, its like downloading any other file of the internet.

I liked Ever17 quite a bit myself... it's my 32nd favourite visual novel, and my 3rd favourite non-ero VN (favourites being ludesia and symphonic rain). My complaint was mostly the same thing I have with all the other Infinity series games - the game is longer than the story it has to tell, and as such Ever17 takes about four times longer to clear than it should. It also doesn't make the whole 'impending destruction' thing as scary/tense as it probably should be (Remember11, on the other hand, feels just as tense/serious as it should). Otherwise, it's definitely top-tier and it's plain that it's hyped as much as it is because it's very, very good.

Oh well. A problem I had with Ever17 was its chicken sandwich mode. Like you said, it was unnecessarily long. Too much fluff for its own good. The characters are still nice and I don't care what anyone says. I still like Sora.

I definitely agree with this. The final route drags on for far too long, especially since most of it is just retelling pieces of the earlier routes, and the final resolution is much longer than it should have ever been.

Well, the thing is that I find it very hard to give any sort of 'percentage score' to visual novels, which is usually what people end up asking me when they ask for my opinion on a VN. I can't look at something I've played and give it a number.

I can, however, look at two VNs and decide which one I liked more, which is all I really need for making a ranking list, and just as good for the purposes of giving a VN a score.
