I think this question is easier to answer if it's about BL games. For example, I like Akira (Togainu no Chi). He's a cool guy.

When it's about Otome games, the question becomes really hard to answer. I'd like to mention Kahoko (Kiniro no Corda) because genuinely liked her as a heroine, she has some nice dialogues and her personality is quite good for an otome game, but I still like the guys better.

Yuzu, the Switch emulator, runs Code Realize - Saikou no Hanataba and Nil Admirari no Tenbin Irodori Nadeshiko at 100% on my Ryzen 1600 (CPU being the most important factor) and gtx 1070ti (shouldn't be able to do the same even with a way lesser GPU). What's so bad about Tokimeki GS? The general answer is the boys are cute, the setting is laid back, the week management is pretty well balanced compared to most games with a similar style, and the routes are simple and drama free (as far as GS1 and GS2 goes, didn't play GS3).

So far, it's good. Hibari is top qt and otomate made a good decision giving her a voice. The guys are all ダメ男 and they may sound dumb sometimes (especially Ichiya) but they're all likable. Hibari's friend, Tsumugi is also great. She's an otaku who likes cosplaying, going to conventions like Comiket and wants to see Hibari fall in love so she can make a doujin about it. It's been a while since I've enjoyed an Otomate game this much.

I can deal with unvoiced heroines but unvoiced names are the worst. Like the heroines name is written in the text but the characters just say 'you' or nothing at all.

I've never got why having the heroine be nameable was that important. I always leave it as is if there's a default.

Hi ya.
Been playing since Christmas and I am so far impressed. If you like the usual mobile otome games with logins, events requiring you to invest extra time before something is gone and half of the game requiring money, then yea, you'd have no problem with Helix waltz.
There are currently 57 characters (including the protagonist and her mother) in the english version (more coming) and quite a lot of them are unique and memorable. Around 10 of them are claimed to be "datable" but keep in mind there is no such thing as a "route" here. The closest to that is just maaaybe getting a short story once you complete a certain outfit. For all 55 characters there is chatting with them at balls and earning a few side quests involing them + event storylines. Not having a true ending with anybody is a disappointment but you do get to know each character quite a lot.
The main selling point of the game is definitely the tons and tons of clothing items you dress your MC with even without cash. It was refreshing how instead of a chibi model we can modify an actual character sprite which remains that way even during cutscenes.
Another thing I like in Helix waltz is the solid world building through conversations, the events, the quests and even the outfits. I have never had such a strong grasp of a fantasy mobile otome world before. You start to care not only about characters but about different countries, cultures, ethnicities, races, politics and even freaking economy. You learn alongside the protagonist how rich her environment is and often fight alongside her for others while trying to rebuild her family's glory.

Long story short, fun game I think you should give it a try.

Fuck Steam Prison. I laughed myself sick when I went in blind, got a bad end in Adage's route, and then in another file learned the explanation for the death of the MC's parents. Even the MC called it a silly reason. I waited for a while until I could read the lines without laughing at it. It was boring through Adage's route until Finn's reappearance. I haven't seen the rest of the story yet, but seeing a glimpse of this crazy underside baited me in checking out the other guys.

It's a popular genre but I don't think I've ever played or even seen an otome game where there's a character like that. And it's always exactly the same set up, where the main guy is engaged to some supposedly bitchy ojou-sama.

They all seem to be based off of each other rather than off any actual otome game that exists. I'm guessing that whoever made the first one came up with a fake game based on vague memories of shoujo manga and old otome games like Angelique and the early TMGS games that actually had rivals and everyone else just jumped on the bandwagon.

Now we've reached isekaied mc as a romance target.

I'm nearly done with Ines' route. I went with the stupid choice, and saw Fin. I wondered when he'd show up. In another save, the MC challenged Sachs again. I facepalmed at this decision. The probability of her winning is 0% since she hadn't practiced her sword skills after being sent down. I'm appalled the MC probably won this round. Sachs let his guard down after that extensive inappropriately timed flashback. And the he killed himself. Okay then.

I missed the crazy shit that happened in Adage's route since Glissade got sent back up to the Heights after being injured. Ines was just all calm in telling the MC, Yeah, there's poison in the rations. I dunno who's bright idea was that. It's so bizarre. This game's world is messed-up. I would've enjoyed it more if this MC wasn't as sheltered. I can't imagine eighteen years of being uncurious of the bizarre rules. Doesn't she have rebellious rulebreaking noble 'friends' somewhere?

I take it back. There was some crazy stuff in Ines' route. The loose ends seemed to have been tied up nicely with the killer, and their accomplices being brought to justice while Ines, and the MC finally get a clue. Best of all, Fin lives, and he's probably going to be okay now that he's reunited with the MC. Probably. It was horrifying to learn from the flashbacks that Fin was the injured guy Glissade was tending to earlier. Seeing his devoted thoughts on the MC didn't help.Poor dude. The romance this time was like watching two sloths find each other. The plot reveal, no matter how terrible it was done, made up for it sorta.

The awful world they live in was way more interesting to think about than the characters themselves. I got tired reading Ulrik's route due to his 95% tsun 5% dere composition. It didn't help that Eltcreed was spouting those creepy lines along the way. If I were to rank the love interests based on what I've seen, Fin is still the highest followed by Ines, then Adage.

I got all of Yune's endings. Never in a million years would I correctly guess the true source of Yune's immortality. My sides were liberated. I would like to know what the writer was taking when they wrote this.

You've been holding out on me, /blog/. If you would've said this was some sort of absurd comedy masquerading as an otome game, I would've checked it out right away. I still got Eltcreed's route to go. I regret playing this now as I don't think I'll ever experience this wild ride again for the first time.

In any case, I liked Yune's Lingering Scent, and Let's Meet Again endings. Both of the events lead to the Yune, and the MC making their world a much better place in exchange for their love. Fin also survives albeit his damage, and madness is concealed, while Glissade probably gets executed after they found out about his involvement. As for Ulrik, holy fuck, this dude was really something in Yune's route. If Eltcreed hadn't intervened, the MC would've died just for his paranoid request of proving Yune's identity in the earlier scenes.

Why does otomedream have such a good community? They upload literally everything.

I haven't finished Eltcreed's route. His lines tire me out. Ulrik wasn't so bad in this path. I don't understand why Ulrik was terrible in his own route. The truth of the arranged marriage system revealed in Yune's route was done in an awful way. I felt the same way as the mob characters after his stupid speech.

I can't wait to see how the game resolves story after playing through all the routes.

Ozmafia's weirdly cheerful, and disjointed compared to Steam Prison's depressing scenario. I ended my Ozmafia game after I got the MC to take over the brothel ending. Best decision ever. I went through Scarlet, Caramia, Kyrie, and all the other brothel love interests before I stopped trying to find out what caused Fuka's amnesia in the first place.

Anyway, I finally got off Steam Prison's wild ride today, and got all endings. It took a while. I didn't want to move on from my Ines savefile while I continue to pick the options calling him cute.

It was for the best that I picked Eltcreed last. The last half of his route was like an multi-track drifting illegal move depending on the ending you dun goofed yourself in. Either way Fin's gonna show up to die. That reminded me of another otome game love interest who kept dying until you're in his route picking the right options. otoh, Fin's a determined F.O.E in the bad endings where he captures the MC. I liked Eltcreed's semi-max affection good ending more since he was more vulnerable than in the best ending. I messed up getting the former since I didn't kill Fin. Even the game tells you it's a stupid idea to let him live. ;_;

The grand finale's nice. Everyone played their part well towards a better future even Sachsen. I liked him in Eltcreed's best ending as well. Sucks to be Yune as he's still immortal, but at least he's finally concerned for the welfare of the people. Huzzah for the dissolution of the marriage regulations. Then again he's spent 400+ years being depressed about his immortality so the government rules went horribly wrong as it stagnated in the passing years. I still would like to pelt him with a rotten potato even if I might die from it. Also, Fin thank goodness you're alive in this one even if you screwed it up by not including your name when you wrote your marriage proposal to the MC. I simultaneously felt bad, and wanted to laugh at him. Actually, I did. The MC didn't mince words on how she described his letter.

Steam Prison is a lot of things but it sure as hell isn't boring, I'm glad you had fun. The way it plays everything completely straight, even shit like THE FUCKING MINERAL and all the retarded melodrama in Adage's route makes for a very entertaining ride.
And yes, Ines is cute. Cute.

I'm glad I played this. Thanks for the anons who discussed Steam Prison in the earlier threads. I nearly fucking died from laughing my way through the game. I might’ve also nearly gotten my hand fused to my face during Eltcreed, Adage, and Yune's routes due to amount of facepalming I did. I was floored that Adage's JP voice in his best ending confession was as crass as it was in the translation. Same with Eltcreed spouting all those lewd lines.

I thought Yune was an advanced android that began to think he was a human as time passed before I learned the truth from him. Or maybe an alien due to the frequent tendency of JP media to insert that sort of unknown element to represent a beyond the impossible powerful shady figure. I mean, it's not farfetched given the weird steampunk setting, right? No. SENTIENT MINERALS, SON. I gave up those earlier theory bets against myself when it also said it was very possessive of Yune.

It was enjoyable, and better polished than Ozmafia. Slim pickings on the love interests though. I'd still go for those sluts in the brothel route, or Scarlet.

Speaking of the spare Fin option, in another save I wondered what will happen if I tanked Eltcreed's affection. The MC ended up running away with Ulrik while Fin's probably hunting them down given how tenacious he is. It's good he was given a chance in the vita game. I have to wonder how their confession scene would go down, or how the bad endings would play out. Pre-HOUNDS Fin was depressing. Even more if the game didn't deviate, MC would've married Fitzgerald, and their world would remain stagnant thanks to Yune not giving a fuck. Shame about Theia's death. She was cool, calm, and competent. I would've liked to see a world where she still commands HOUNDS.

After I finished Steam Prison, I started Bocchi Musume.

I missed playing these games. Sometimes a seemingly straight story would have plot reveals that turns it into unintentional comedy. The MC of this game has a strong imagination. I've only heard a few lines, and I instantly noticed how familiar one of these named characters sounded. So according to vndb, the guy who voiced Eltcreed also voiced Miki? And now I'm aiming for that guy? What a twist.

I played in the order they're shown in the status screen but considering how wild of a ride Eltcreed's route is in comparison to Ulrik's I'd probably swap them out.
I definitely recommend doing the Bodyguard path before the Prisoner one because the routes in the latter tend to have more plot-relevant information so going from finding out why you were sent to the Depths to dicking around in town could feel like a bit of a slowdown.

I'm dropping Bocchi Musume. I ended up with Miki. It has genuinely funny dialogue, although it does border on absurd humor in some of the bad endings. Never expected that ghost ending. I'll save it for when I'm down on the dumps. There's still Saito's, and the rest of the endings to get later when I return to it. Might have to check Torikago no Marriage later as this game cheekily mentioned it.

I forgot to say that it was great to listen to the MC's voice actress in Bocchi Musume's. Very good performance with the other main characters. Didn't expect Okitsu as Saito, or that Miki's VA voice could go that deep when he told that Italian stallion joke.
