Speaking of boss fights, has anyone made an Orthros for Mugen? Obviously Takoluka would be a worthy adversary if there were, but I fear FF6 is kind of fading into obscurity now.

I see your point, but that's so sad. Every RPG and Final Fantasy fan should play through VI at least once. It's so fucking epic. I certainly hope it gets re-made again at some point, but I doubt it will. It was already sort of re-made once on the PS1.

Did you forgot it was also ported to the GBA? At any rate, while it is very good (second-best RPG on SNES in my book), it has aged quite a bit. New people without nostalgia goggles may not see its appeal.

Honestly, random encounters notwithstanding, I have slightly fonder memories of FF6 than to Chrono Trigger. The music, art, characters, and pacing make it the definitive FF game as I see it, if nothing else for the locales (opera house scene?) make it more memorable than Chrono Trigger's.

But this is a hopeless and pointless nostaligiafag's argument. Chrono Trigger has better combat.

It's funny. FF6 was even the first RPG I ever played, but CT was just too good. Both had fantastic soundtracks and characters, give CT a slight edge in the epic scope of its story, and combat seals the deal. But whatever, there's no disagreement that FF6 was amazing.

Ignore the shitty slideshow, but that's basically one of the reasons why FF6 is one of the best video games ever made.

I still can't think of many games (both Western and Japanese) that outdo that little part (and piece of music) in FF6.

FF6 was shit. I don't understand how anybody liked that abomination. The combat was boring, the esper system was ass, and the characters were all uninteresting and bland. How does anybody like this shit? Is it just the cool thing to do to like FF6 and not FF7?

FF7 was mediocre, but it sure as hell was more fun and engrossing than that shit-fest of a game that is referred to as FF6.
