Same goes between North and South Korea. All the talks between the two leaders just go down to make sure that they would find a common ground in international relations, so it's more about ensuring peace than laying the groundwork for an unification. Really, whatever the ultranationalistic fringe says, as of now Korea is better off divided. Decades of total isolation from each other have polarized each country, hence a possible unification would only prove, in its own way, economically and politically detrimental for both of the sides.

Bad example with Slovakia and Kosovo since its two different countries and two different ethnic groups. But i do agree with you on the part that the Koreas will probably not be united. The technological difference is to huge, and slowly is the cultural difference. If they do unite though it would be under a north korean leader that doesn't carry the same ideals as his father which seems impossible.
